Yeah. And then you’ve got an All Rights Reserved flight. From the top. And you notice that our world has changed oh my goodness get a little.
Theoretically there’s a light at the end of the tunnel but we’re all going to be on a line quite a bit for the next several months now even after pandemic time is over link did it and then in social media is going to new to be.
One of the best tactics to build a business it isn’t the only tactic but it is one of them what we’ve been taught over this past year is that.
Charles Darwin is right it is the strongest piece to survive or the most intelligent business is that survive for adaptable to change. Keep in mind that as a small business owner and understand we know if you’re watching us you’re a small business owner the fine folks at Coca-Cola who pulled their ads from the Super Bowl and Pepsi they don’t come to us for marketing assistance but small business owners do so everything we’re going to talk to today about might have a basis in what started in the big at their ties their world but it comes in down to small businesses can do and to do over 80 percent I must add 2 thirds of the Fortune $500.00 is gone so it wasn’t that they were big and bad and all of the other stuff that hey they couldn’t adapt so here’s what we’re going to are going to learn today I’m waiting for a slide to kick.
Back and work on talk for a little bit on how to create your targeted message because whether you’re using Linked In or Facebook or any other social media or any of their marketing tactics.
You’ve got to have your message properly crafted you’re wasting your time and dollars and dollars so we don’t want that happens at the top we’re going to talk about creating them or tournaments and talking while and in assessing things you gotta do those are musts as it so that is why not maybe is not kind is there must make your profile better so that it will attract your folk.
Easier will talk about how and why to create your company page that is so simple your next steps will be given you some free things free will now if you take your notes here and you still want some help putting your Linked In page together you’re going to see that that u.r.l. at the bottom free marketing consultation dot com you’ll see that always through the presentation you can go there and get 30 minutes with that it’s a sales call it is us healthy for our region we do that frankly isn’t half of our referrals and come from the people that we give a consultation to the told our friends so we want to give you time so that you learn about us and you tell your friends about it.
Here’s what today isn’t. We go to a lot of winners and quite often me will find out that we get to the end and it does it really the only way to it works is if you hire the person doing the weather the way it is today everything you’re going to see today you can do yourself and we’re going to show you how to do it now you want to do it I think it’s up by the way glint of the dishes in this picture is not hanging from Iraq you don’t do that for clients you have.
That natural engine Yes Land Office or here’s a site I told you about for those of you who are here just a little earlier we would normally be able to take questions as we go but Internet time we’re on a bit of a lot of.
Weather conditions etc So hold on b.n. promise we will get to we know that that score has blocked a total blackout a couple hours we will finish in plenty of time we have way and time to answer all your questions so they will get taken care of so welcome in sit down strap on and we’ll get to it just a little bit about us.
2 years ago we were voted America’s number one coaching team for small business we turn a lot of Watcher printers into entrepreneurs we had 3 different clients that started their business from scratch plastered all of them be a profitable immediately or a lot of small business owners the key is to is going to build their business we’ve got 6 best selling books are going to get a couple of those for free if you and and we just speak before this we’re speaking in a different city every month of the year we took small business owners your business serve your life that is always the goal.
Is to. You have your business but is it is your business serving your life or does your life work exist to serve your business we want to do it 1st way our missionaries is going to teach obviously didn’t.
Firm Boudreaux that slide action. From a sales point of. We’ve been interviewed by a couple real famous people James Dillon to Chaco his a.b.c. Secret Millionaire and Kevin Harrington who is on chart and I mention that here’s a here’s the reason I mention that here.
Those interviews are on their front page of our website and from time to time we have it on a schedule basis we will share the link from those interviews to Arlington page and our you know all of our social media pages here’s why we do it.
And in here’s the key to that we want you to start getting in the habit of. We don’t put the interview there so you’re not you’re not going to watch it on Linked In But there’s a new it’s the link that brings you back to our website when you are sharing things to your profiles and again Facebook Linked In All of them we want you to get in the habit of just sharing a link with a snippet that brings them back to your website when someone is on our social media pages they can get to know there’s an there are other posts like you know a quarter of an intro way as I scroll up but if we can get them to our Web sites they get to know you better there though invest more time in going through your bonus and reading about your reading your blog and all of that other stuff.
By the way if you if you want it out of our web and are about what are we doing well in our cyber profit where is that one that line is I know if I know if we’re not doing it this week we’re going to next month is not the it’s week and I just wrote it here it is February Thursday February 11th and if you go to your marketing dot com You can find that’s you can find out when they are going brings you back for free so if you invest some money with score today and come back and read any of our what ours and will do that will teach you how to make your website more profitable.
Twice a year we do a small business breakthrough bootcamp we’ve been interviewed on a couple of 100 different publications. And I said oh here’s the fears the 2nd thing we’re going to be the feeling you get up to the podcast you $243.00 episodes and we changed it to a view cast and we would like you to invite you to be.
It’s called the marketing checklist you just. Your interview for 7 minutes and 21 seconds everyone gets the same question and the questions are designed to make you look good so if you would like to appear in our view cast the information in the chat the information is on your screen you send us an email we send you the questions you send us the answers so here’s the best hint to being accepted to be on the show understand 12 questions 7 minutes 21 seconds we want we want to train you to be your answers to the point when someone is saying you know do your 32nd elevator pitch or things like that we have to learn to tell our message shortly systemically this is where the ways that we train our clients do over want to invite you to come on of you cast totally free so.
Enjoy our then the last little bit about us we do coaching we have online marketing programs and that’s what we do. We’re going to be in the lean to and as Newstead as talk about some important marketing basics he said watching this data is.
We don’t create any link to a marquee message or any marketing message with that name sac Li who we’re creating it for their on the road to success there are no shortcuts did that just.
It just sounds. And there are 2 ways that you create your message one of your Twitter demographics and the others with psychedelics So let’s talk about demographics a little bit of these imagine that these 4 women all need to buy a core they have been a major much of falling for these they’re not using public transportation they need to buy a car they probably are not looking at the same kind of car they are probably not looking at the same benefits and features of the car so a good car sales person is going to message each of them differently on Linked In on ads on other social media in order to attract them to their dealership the same thing for you it is quite possible it is for women this might actually benefit from your product or service but you’ll need to message each of them differently to attract them to your business again by the rich Linked In or any other social media channel or any other advertising that you’re doing.
So that’s the theory here some of how it popped up in the real world we went to Panda Express because in our area the only place you can get decent Chinese welcome to Sedona measure they said he would you like 2 dollars off your next meal Well sure go to this link answer these questions about your meal so I went to the link answered the questions about the meal which was delicious the last slide.
It’s some demographic information so a Panda Express is doing now this was for their for their local restaurant and they knew which which were actors the numbers on Match of their at the cuckoo it would be great but they asked our gender age income some of the basic demographic information what we want to do is create messages that are going to attract more people like us because clearly we are fans of Panda Express if we went there and that we’re willing to fill out the form we’re clearly announce So they want to know how to attract more of us so that time it works in so well I don’t know.
If we want to give you a couple things that are going to give you something it’s going to be a tool again you’re going to e-mail us for if you want this.
If you want to go through this exercise yourself we created a demographic chart. It’s really kind of simple gives you a way to figure out 5 different meat color hair yet 5 different Harriet’s 5 different avatars and when you’re matching them up by Ok Ill these are all these are things about Bill.
Bill and they’re both kind of the same so you can see how to use this chart if you like this send us an email and we will send it off to.
One of the reasons that we named our avatar is we recommend to you and you our clients that you will name your avatar as well it is very beneficial to you to have.
A picture in your mind or even better print out a picture of your ideal client your favorite client your most profitable have that feature sitting across the desk from you whenever you are creating a marketing message whether that’s Linked In or any other social media or any other marketing or advertising because it’ll help you remember all right I’m cruel relating it for this person what Ice Ages out for and to attract more of those types of people to me simply to encourage you to not just a you know Avatar ideal client name them who is it what is that person’s name you know for example one of our avatar one of our app that’s Cars are 2 people that they don’t have business partners and we are very 1st clients that were partners their names were Ballard now in Stephanie so it’s balance that is the name of of the avatar of the demographic so let’s switch that on the other half of that is our psyche graphics.
By the way we we don’t really dice flip ass on this like we normally sell that for $97.00 We do have an art fair here because the score so you just get that for free.
We also know that people don’t buy for logical reasons they buy for emotional reasons. And it’s what’s going on in their heart in their head and why are they going to buy from you compared to a competitor.
Hears of this cool. On your screen is our trade show that I’ve always wanted to make a trade show based on Lucy from peanuts and psychiatric help $0.05 of.
Before we built it we sent it out to all of our different Harriet’s we said What do you think of this. Oddly enough every one of them had a positive response to it in their negative news and well Ok that means it’s a good idea and then we brought it out in the real world for testing Here’s what we found those people that are our areas.
Whether they’d be a great candidate for hiring us or a referral partner. All got it and those people that walked up to it and kind of had a puzzled look on their face and said so if I if I if you Mom answer a mark to market question I need a nickel if they didn’t get it by digging down deep to find out who they are what they do we found out they’re not our Harriet’s So our trade show biz acts as let’s call a sales funnel because that’s kind of what it is your hear I’m going to bring this back to thinking when you pose about things I’m going to have the right Harriet’s will see it and respond to it the wrong the people that aren’t your Harriet people are your avatar won’t that’s the best news ever use and we’re only talking to people that have better than average chance of wanting to work with you so this is why the messaging is so very bundled before we talk about with any of it is getting the message blocked in e-mail them and so to give just to go through our here’s the here’s the salesman.
The. Booth attracts the attention. Could be a post. And it says Come closer or go to my remote site. If you’re online we know that some get that they’re not leaving our booth without at least one of our books sales book marketing book because we know when they get back to their office from their trade show they’re going to go through all that agast stuff that are one gets.
Throw it out keep it drop it and whatever throws out of the. Sound. Foolish is that there’s construed never lived up and it invites unhappier How are you creating your sales funnel to create knowing how your sales process works makes it much easier no matter what we’re doing.
Here’s another real world example let’s pretend that this sign is a mead that went off on because households What’s he. Or on their list page right so we said we actually saw this actual sidewalk sign it was actually on a sidewalk we were in London we were visiting my sister it caught our attention we are big bang theory fans it is the ring tone on my phone so we thought oh great we’re going to enter this contest we have loads of fun when a woman comes and then we looked a little further and thought we would be gone by then so your your posts are like this it is a sidewalk sign you want your Harriet to ask for more information.
If if it doesn’t speak to them then they’re going to keep moving along down the block and that’s why you know the marketing it is getting your clients to raise their hands then the sales process comes that we don’t do sales without having them raise their hands 1st because we’ve all been we’ve all been to that chamber event or something where there’s that person that wants to sell you something no matter what it’s worried and asking you.
Any questions about you but they come up and they just are selling something so that’s not what we want your messaging to Ok. Let’s get into. What we’re here for so think of Facebook is kind of like the backyard barbecue we haven’t put there though is what they’re you know going to be all the time what to do is replace the Can we get there and they’re there to act all the other social media still Facebook is kind of like the backyard are you and learned in it a little more professional it’s more like your office water cooler in the room.
And by the way Twitter’s colleague backyard barbecue I mean I’m sorry like a bar because it’s busy and loud and oh my goodness so the photos are usually the way to differentiate Facebook and Linked In.
Love the white screen says kind of what we see outside our window right to snow. So right now with the marketplace there are 5 different generations there were we haven’t been in a situation for quite a long time he said waiting for the slide to fully loaded.
What we one of the things you want to we want to share with you is very important. Is Millennium Goals are about to take over over half the people are employed so quickly when you’re creating not your slides your chart of clients make sure you understand that.
Jenna and you know baby boomers and traditional subjects are still there but the millennial are taking over right eye in the x. y. and z. are from the. You need different messages for each one if you’re going to try and sell me something on the tab of the late into the baby boomers you know you’re going to sell me differently the and someone who’s in their twenty’s or thirty’s so creating your message for the right way keeping it and.
An eye open or keeping them your mindset to how would work with different going to marry. And which platform to go on it pretty well now today we’re talking about Linked In but we want to give a little bit along to some of the other platforms as well.
And the main point we talk about social media is this. These platforms are rental property you don’t own your profile when you when you took a profile and filled it out you had to click that terms of of what the terms of terms and in fact the terms conditions.
And real clearly in it in there it says we own it you know. There are private companies you don’t have to be out of the one that’s why and one of the platforms to get it right now there have been.
You know that for doing so but now understand there are no 1st Amendment protections on any social media or private companies. And since it’s rental property our goal your goal is to is to use your social media and like your fishing your phone because the water you’re pulling back to your website you see this a lot is a really important.
You’ve got a website it’s got to be tell your story very effectively and they had all of your social media is bolstering it’s making it stronger and better. There are several different Web sites you know forms of your time and Dan.
Dan that any of them could go away at any time you have to Google plus That’s why there’s a big x. across it so it’s all right let’s get into Linked In and and chat about it.
At least one steps Yeah here’s some interesting stats on LNG then obviously there’s a for last year there. May give us new ones have had to assert one of the stats but it’s not here that size of interest I think most people because they are concerned about how much time investment it takes on Linked In is most people on Linked In are only but in about 17 minutes a week on Linked In So it’s not a big time investment if it weren’t from investment right as you can see Lincoln’s response 80 percent of the b.b. leads from social media so it is an important time investment but it’s not under us there are there are ways to do it faster.
Linked In is great for showing off or professional statements remember that link and hope start at the top award and some people still think of it and I only go there if I’m looking for a job or I’m looking to hire that is actually not accurate Linked In is a professional’s data base it is a place where if assuming that you are selling to professionals which most small business owners are because a professional are the one that have those disposable dollars to invest on your products or service so most of us are selling to professionals it is where they go to find other professionals it is a database just like Google search engine Linked In is a switch engine as well which is their focus is as a professional it says here that your secret weapon is to create a group this is true although if you are new to Linked In The me would advise you to not start with creating a group instead think about who your Herion is are who are your idea clients your favorite client to most profitable clients and figure out what groups they are already in and then go into those groups and be helpful before you start trying to create your own group and possibly leading them to your group and kind of it kind of dependence of not there’s a bit of a nest in there there’s a chair and we can talk about that in your free marketing consultation like we do with our private coaching clients should should they start their own are good into groups and just an idea but what’s the it should be for any of the put up forms that any well any of the platform I shouldn’t that’s not true at any pot farm doesn’t all have groups groups and we would say the same thing go find your Harriet’s in groups that already exist.
Before you start your own the the difference I would say is with a liable if you are not on a line of bull and you would like to chat about that we can do that in your free market consultation a lot of member will it’s specifically for.
For small business so Linked In is business to business and professional but the big business owners are there I mean the C.E.O.’s of places like g.e. and Coca-Cola and those folks they usually monitor their own Linked In profile they don’t usually staff that out like they do with Facebook and Instagram those kind of banks.
The difference is that with a line of bull that is focused on small business and it is not as popular as Linked In Yes And so they’re starting your own group and being that big fish in the small pond is beneficial so if we can talk about that in your free marketing consultation if you so choose to now keep what’s really interesting to me there are 2 stats on this slide are really interesting to me.
It was 5050 servers professional compare that to interest rates through which are you know women 35 and under typically So yeah so and I point this out because one of the one of the things we talk to our coach to clients is look at stock about your dreams fall so yes it’s 5050 that kind of aspiring your do you wish you wish that everybody liked you all the same but it’s not the case and it’s totally already but the other step here you see where that the millennial is 23 percent of who’s using this.
If you went back a couple of years the 65 plus that those numbers were higher but the old as it were the ages are you know generations are working their way through it so you can conceive that it is.
4th. Especially since most of the prime working areas and ages right at that $25.00 to $54.00 but it makes sense that that would be the all of those that are on Linked In to the profession although that’s when they’re working right you get older than you start talking about retirement and that sort of thing so it makes sense that that would be the bulk of the users on Linked In All right so let’s talk about Gus and we did I just switched of you just so yours dropped right in this book so let’s talk about.
Some must haves that you’ve got. So key words a number one we’re going to do that teen keywords number one usually you think of key words when it comes to your website but as I said Linked In is a professional database so those don’t same key words play an important role on Linked In What is your hair area typing into this search engine linked in the search engine what is she talking and talking in behind you which she doesn’t know that you specifically exist so you want to keep in mind of those key words and you’re going to use them throughout not going to mention that as we go through the 17 where you would use it number to use your professional name so what that means is use the name that you used to introduce yourself when you are meeting someone new give you an example my given name is Henry but the only people that call the Henry are people that have known me since high school or people that have gotten some database.
Information where we’ve bought something and I may speak to me What are you trying to zob. I use take on virtually everywhere across the Internet including link that just think about the.
Number 3 get serious about your photo this means use your for factional headshot. Or you would know I am looking but it is looking at us and my screen sharing their thoughts sorry awesome Ok so you use a professional headshot this is not a place for a selfie.
Your you’re here once to see something professional and even during this covert time photographers know how to take pictures social distancing so get get a professional headshot if yours is one of the common questions we get is Well how often should I change it and it really comes down to this get get on us with yourself pull up your Linked In profile put it next to you on is next to your mirror and look at yourself in the mirror and look at your Linked In profile and if it doesn’t look like the same person if I met you out of the blue and I went to your link to a profile if the person that I saw doesn’t look doesn’t match the person I’m seeing only then it’s time for Hi John.
Affair. Please don’t use this yeah this is not selfie time you know. It’s professional You gotta look at it and use the same photo across all the platforms this that will make sure it’s up there there you know this is our current headshot and we use we use it on a couple of our books we use it on every one of our platforms.
That one or this one from the back which is just kind of share a little. Bit I saw sort of a more casual one and then but it always knows it’s actually off nothing but if you can get it as a group this was shot this photo was shot in a parking lot of the Westin near l.a.x. balanced for there we were speaking at an event as a hate we could use a couple headshots you know sometimes so sure we wanted to the Marquis was really here he just looked at me like do I have to explain to you.
And he got about 15 really great shots in a relatively short time so having a great photographer shoot you he just was out the back when it was actually during Christmas time and so there were lights and it just was just he did a great job and the use of I was also please look look your best Ok for optimize your vocation so this you need to think about where your ideal client is and where they are in relation to you so here’s what I mean by that if you are in the greater Los Angeles area and your ideal client can in the greater Los Angeles area not we have is greater Los Angeles area Linked In knows what that is your duty to you know location that link and recognizes as is a database and so it has to be a field that they propagate.
If your id if you’re in that must Angeles but your ideal client is in New York. Then you could say so like the u.s. you don’t have to say that you’re greater Los Angeles if you work internationally we can work with anyone in the speaking world wide so we could say USA they do want to know what country you’re in the very least it just helps with figuring out time zones and that sort of thing so you do need to choose a location at Linked In My point is you can’t make something up.
Well you could you could you could say Hogwarts but it’s also say that say that. Ok. Number 5 brand your professional have a life so if you are just starting out only in that field says title.
It that’s great if you were job searching but you’re not to don’t put title you’re not the founder of the c.e.o. I mean you may very well be but don’t put that in that field.
Think about all those key words for normal money what it Harriet typing in the search engine to find you when she doesn’t know that you specifically exist. So use your headlines space to speak to your ideal client here Harriet.
Example. We’re both co-owners of our company but we don’t click oh we put target in I think might have targeted Martin technicians as much as we were targeted marketing and they typed that into the the search bar either that or chance of coming up but see here a hypnotherapist instead of saying you’re the owner of you know x. y. z. hypnotherapy.
Transit Authority a therapist I can speak for a living specializing in ceasing smoking weight loss or whatever those are so your title is more what you do than the title that’s on your business card.
Because your Harriet is not looking for owner right if she’s looking for hypnotherapist she’s not looking for the owner of x y z hypnotherapy group right that’s just not what you see in it she’s typing in hypnotherapist you know those typing in owner and founder and those things telemarketers.
Because they want to reach the owner they think they’re going to defeat the more likely to make the sale with their talking the owner so so keep that in mind this is how you’re going to jump the system you only have 110 characters so ideally you leave enough room for your phone number yes there’s another place getting a phone number and you put it there also but a lot of people they go tell the link in the may find you and they just want to call you so let’s not make and to click specials and probably using a smartphone most of them do so you don’t take them put a bunch of times you want them to easily find your phone number be able to call you before you move on I want to I want to.
Generalize that phone number and to your Web site as well strike. Your phone number should be upper right. Hang or. And when somebody is looking at your website on their device that should be able just touch it and have the phone number it should be to touch is going to touch it when you call so make sure that your phone number is used for a lot of people go on they’ve heard about you with a check your number they want to call you want to make it is easy as possible for them to connect us.
Only didn’t in the headline or farmers are likable but that’s Ok they can copy it and it’s fine it’s just they are so it makes it easy for them as clickable to contact I think it will get the idea from the answer No it’s not so you can go from your website actually make sure that it was clear clickable from your website not clickable in this field on Linked In and the contact is clickable so number 6 customize your profile u.r.l. so when ever you start working on a new platform and whether it’s Linked In or any other it’s going to give you Linked In dot com slash in slash gobbledygook.
Made it out of the bottom of your slide in a piece combination something like your your name but it’s a bunch of numbers and letters so we make it you can customize it so that it is more specific to use than this example right it would just be Neil Shaffer we try to not put the hyphen people don’t remember to put type in and U.R.L.’s so it just gets annoying and they don’t get where they want to go so try to feel safer is arni taken we would say Ok and middle initial argument will initial If your a c.p.a. the maybe a feel safer c.p.a. right but somehow make it easy without all that got to go you know interestingly.
We didn’t know before the Internet that so many people have our names we have a fine His name is Joshua Dunn and he let us know you know there’s a there’s an entire Facebook group where your name is to be just were done in order to get in the 300 so this may be more difficult you may need to get a little more creative use you’ve used your 1st initial last name for ever Yes when when social media 1st started I was actually an employee even I was office an h.r. manager for financial services entertainment so I I made everything consistent it was just all parts National last name actually ice pellets the I realize that Sharon Rose doesn’t like i felt Yeah sure in general has it right way to go share that most people think I spell it by the fact that so trying to make force them to spell it correctly.
Moon So I just use my 1st as a last name so any any platform you can find me personally not our company but me personally with personalizing it is an option just you want to be consistent that’s also just steady mindful of how you’re listed on the other platforms as well Number 7 align your industry so again this is not a place to be too creative This is a database so you need to use a field that Linked In regularly propagates So what is your.
You know what is your industry so hands example right hypnotherapist in Neal’s example that social media strategy to use. That field for your industry so that Harriet can find you more easily when she’s looking for you and doesn’t know that use the civically exist number 8.
This is true for every platform this is not linked in specific be active. Similar to being in the chamber of commerce if you give them your better ship dollars and then never show up at the end of the year you go Well it did work for me well but because you never showed up Same thing for Linked In and all the other social media platforms if you set up a profile and then a company page but then are never there and then you wonder why it’s all working for you to be active and what that means for Linked In and every other social media channel except whatever is once a day post post something that your Harriet will find in gauging so that you encourage her to like comment share.
And persistent all day on your personal profile and on your this page there we go 12 percent of this is from Facebook and that’s our personal pages not even our business ones because people are active a lot.
And people in the after while saying you post some really cool stuff what do you do. I think on Linked In it’s 10 percent of our new business comes from we do so.
But this wouldn’t happen if we were on those pages every day so we’ve we have committed to being on social media generally we’re on in the morning and in the afternoon you know twice a week did your client that you can be 2 minutes you can pretty much get through all of your social media we talk about that are the campaign understand that in 22 minutes you can be through and done and you know good morning to the afternoon and you’re a Yes Ok number 9 or 10 both relate to your summary section so this is the next section under right your headline of the next section under is your summary section so this is a place where you get to expand on your professional headline might your headline says in pink sample a therapist writes up to get you a little a place more to expand are you with a therapist only for realtors do you know who you’re Who is your Harriet the client I don’t think yes you have only works with realtors.
And if you don’t know what to write in the summary section then I encourage you to go look at mine we don’t need to be connected for you to look at my summary section you can look at it you can copy and paste it into your word processing document change it so it’s about you please don’t put mine in yours and then paste it back into your summary section that will give you a template for what to include in that summary section and for number 10 it includes visual right this is not more and more a visual world so include visuals and what we mean by this are images of your work whether that’s before and after picture if that’s appropriate for you or an image from your slide deck old or it could be a video so if it be of the best monkey don’t even see from a Hyatt there are lots of ways you can embrace the visual in your some reason do not highlight you this is your chance to hear more right now what.
Also going to do it for you if you don’t you assume this is the place where you can highlight us and so do that so here’s a question if they wanted to use a video yes should that video be uploaded to Linked In or should it be on their youtube channel and should they share it across platforms.
You can not upload it. Well the last time I tried you could upload it directly linked in so I’m leaving you to you for it share the link with and you just get a link I think I if I remember correctly it’s been a while now since I’ve done this particular task and Linked In changes things so I’m giving myself a little bit out in case I’m I’ve got it wrong with our new new updates but I think you can use the embed code like you would in your Word Press website and put it in there if you get stuck just reach out I’m happy to troubleshoot it with you we can not on your free marketing hustle Haitian time we can schedule it be as soon as we can screen Jeremy can troubleshoot with you if we are we are big believers in video.
We’re recording this and some of you are watching some of your watching the replay because we recorded it when we didn’t live so that you could get it you know.
This way so they probably Ok a number a lot of an is be connected or get connected. Linked In is no fun if you’re not connected to other people being there all by your lonesome is mostly the same system same equator any any social media channel right and social media remember the 1st order social and it’s easier to be social with people and it is to be social by yourself so get connected now often the question we get is do I connect to everybody.
Well know you do have a bill larger threshold on Linked In to who you your connections are than you do on Facebook but we still wouldn’t say and body that the criteria we use that we teach is are they a potential Hillary it or a potential buyer for a partner to other Harriet’s So if so that’s great if not do we really need to be good at obviously friends and family Ok You know you probably connect them anyway by that are there places where you should get information you should probably go find the score Linked In page and make sure you’re connected they’re all of you know all of that because they share information all the time so and are there other speakers that you really like her you know people you get information from follow them up so that we don’t you always get information and there is a difference between following and connecting and if you connect you by default you’re following but you can follow without connecting there are some.
Celebs influencers that don’t let you connect all you can do is follow which is fine because all you really want is them for me so I don’t really getting the connection for you that I’m going to refer you you’re not going to refer to them so advice.
I would like to refer to Meryl Streep. Movie I just saw it wasn’t as good an actress was in as that is Mary I would like to connect her with.
You know I’ve given a talk I’ve no idea if he really did but that’s it she is one of my favorites but neverless are Ok 13 indorsements you know if you’re a 12120 I’m so sorry I know upper right hand corner I did a standard 812 strut your stuff like I said before this is this is the the time for you to your own horn show share things right projects if you got a new award if you we have a we have a connection that recently really upped his quick book certification so he posted that.
So this is the place where you can show what makes. Do you mean what did accomplishments if you have include those things and are you an author have you published books you know we have 6 books we talk about in there now so it doesn’t have to be in a word that you want to things that you’re doing really cool Hey did you just become president of your chamber did you become president of your networking group did you begin to become vice president or networking or any of that kind of stuff Absolutely and and.
This is this is that here’s a really good one and I just got this this morning I was on a web an r. and one of the speakers she said you’ve got to send your state which my mater so if you’re active in the alumni association of your college because you never know where your fellow graduates are you know absolutely call.
13 it talks about endorsements now in the next slide we’re going have a recommendation so I’m going to lump it all together here because it’s easier to talk about indorsements if you when you go on Linked In.
And you. Connect or you’re thinking about connecting with a new person or maybe you haven’t been on their profile in a while it will show up again under there and then there’s a big cover shot and then there’s their their personal profile picture and then it’s all about summary stuff right the Contact Us headline all that stuff below that there’s usually a bar of.
All them has this a row. Called Circle horizontally. A row with Usually it’s like 4 different names and that Linked In wants you to click on one of those things that you think that person is great it’s.
Ok to link that makes it really easy you can click and you can endorse me for all sorts of things that you would have no way of knowing if I’m good at that because we haven’t even had a conversation yet and you’ve never hired me for hiring or for Excel or whatever site I got I got a recommendation for Excel.
Yeah or they get their own artist to relist you to tell you to click on a recommendation as you’ll see on that site recommendation is a bit more detail if I want to give you a recommendation I need to go to your profile and actually create a recommendation which means I’m typing out an actual paragraph that says why I’m recommending you and then it all show up with my picture on the site which is a bit more time investment it carries a bit more weight to your Harriet.
Although Linked In Love that is just people who like it on thing but. Not it’s valuable. Number 14 make yourself contactable So this is the section where you put in your phone number like we said before on and your website and if you have other social media channels where you would like your area to connect with you on that you put those there as well.
Now on the contacts please please please please please please no matter what because this is across all put all proposed forms. Men sure that your phone numbers for Make sure your e-mail is there make it so easy for people connect to the we’re we’re one of the those folks that will when we go through any of these you know the news feed we’re looking for people who say hey I need this or that the easier it is for me to give them your phone number actually your email address your website the more.
Excited I am to give me information compared to let’s say that I said with a less oh you should you should call Chris call but I don’t Chris’s Priss isn’t here but I have Chris’s phone number.
Well now I’m I making that person just to go track him down compared to here’s the phone number. This happened just last week we had a client pock been up so I know you know it’s a plumber in my area Well yeah if you start on the phone number I was able to connect them and she got the business of.
Ok sorry let’s go going back number 11 I want to answer Brian’s question How many is the ideal number of connections while there there isn’t an ideal number I I’ll tell you that I would shoot for 500 because on Linked In It says you have how many connections you have until you hit 500 what you have 500500 plus I have over 18000 it doesn’t say a 1000 it just was 500 plus so you know you kind of want to show it to mean that you’re a networking person right if you’re if you’re a networking person if you’re Harry it doesn’t care that you have a big network but it doesn’t really matter just make sure those are valuable connections is why we say connect to either Harriet or those that can refer you here yet I would rather that you have 100 people that are hairy as a referral partners that are really active engaged with you then you have 5000 and you’ve got 10 people that maybe are paying attention.
So it’s not necessarily so much how many is. Are How engaged are they really so I hope that helps you Brandon so as I flip the site across we’re going to go there talk a little bit about how you connect with 800000 people what is your strategy for chatting with some of these votes.
I think we’ll get to this a little bit later but that’s the top things that I do every day. When you go into Linked In on the top bar.
It has your home right that’s going to give the news feed then your connections so and usually there’s a number there because someone has reached out to you write a little notification number just like you get on Facebook but a lot of Keisha number how many people have reached out to you so I go when I look is that someone I want to connect with.
And then the next one over if I remember correctly is. My message is so someone that I’ve had I’ve connected with but now we’re having a conversation on Linked In there’s a method there so I I look at those messages I answer those messages and then the next one over is notifications so that’s where it shows up if I’ve made a post and you commented on my post or soap in my notifications so those are the things that I do every day as I go through those and I I do it.
Under no longer than a I’m going to kind of have this die and that I do it in the afternoon but I certainly do it at least once a day I go through all of all of those steps who reach out to me and usually when someone connects with me if I when I accept it I’ll say you know other people like this and I can 7 requests as well if somebody actually sparks my interest I’ve kind of gotten to the point 518000 actually that just answering other people’s reaching out to me tends to be enough I don’t usually have to also find them unless I’ve connected with them elsewhere and now we’re also connecting on Linked In I sometimes will do that I you know there are plenty of other groups that were involved with especially with online the whole that I do also try and find them on Linked In So we’re connected across platforms so I’m going to see a question yet.
When you are trying to connect with somebody on Linked In yes there’s an automatic message that goes along with it what are your thoughts on that and using that message impaired or writing a custom one that’s called teeing up the question on on Linked In their own home.
Sorry x. as I’m. On on a line of allowing gives you those those prompts unless it actually doesn’t give you a prompt you can connect with them without anything being said which is not good don’t do that the automatic problem sir not other people tend to know this is an automatic and you are lazy about it but you write something.
I saw we both went to the same college tailless connect Or I looked at your profile and this is what caught my eye you know or hey we’re in this other group together so I thought we should be connected here on the din I see a lot of people that are people kind of got wise to this right so now they do write these messages but they tend to also be much stock message so I see a lot of hey I loved it your profile I’m trying to build my coaching network so I could I hope that you’ll connect with me like really and I think over and over again so I know that it’s not you know unique to the person you’re.
B.o.b. unique yet being unique being personal There are social media 1st word social Let’s let’s show off our social abilities and it might be that you have 4 or 5 that you use all the time Ok so you’ve got 4 or 5 messages that you use for your different areas you’ve got 4 or 5 different areas so you’ve got those because he put those in a Word doc and you can share that particular one and you tweak I was interest in your profile because I saw you’re an author Hey congratulations on your.
You know what’s your favorite thing about being an author if I would instantly answer them. And by the way for the for those that are relatively new go to Linked In in that message.
Box when you are either accepting a connection. Or they’re checking your action you can drop by a message without actually connecting someone sent me a connection request and in their message it says something about I saw that you’re hiring an eye.
I have this hiring tool and blah blah blah and I didn’t accept that connection requests because we’re not hiring I just reply directly to them I don’t know what gave me the thought that we were hiring more not where 2 people be on the business of when we’re not looking so.
I don’t know that I’m really the right connection for you if you’re still interested the message me back and we can have a conversation about it. They didn’t so.
It’s just not the right connection do you can you can have that conversation without the if you’re not sure you want to accept an action request. Ok moving on to number 15 member we talked about endorsements and recommendations Here’s my presentations so you see how they took the time to write not that paragraph and then their picture shows up on the side and it shows that they are a real person that’s giving you a recommendation and was why they specifically were recommending you so do that and do that for your connections as well I would do it when she blew up the recommend really don’t you know hey I’ve met them and they were really fun on the phone Ok well so much they were their whole thing is to be on the phone I don’t know what good.
16 fully connect with her past so remember that Linked In did start as a job or do we tend we collectively tend to think of it as a digital resume which is really kind of accurate.
We do want you to connect with your past so here’s an I’m going to give you some examples. We had a client that was starting she her previous life was an r.n. registered nurse she started she decided she wanted to start an assisted living center.
But she wanted to create a new profile leaving out the r.n.. So she will not have to probably file the r.n. any disability or no don’t do that because that already background is really valuable when your herion isn’t siting on assisted living center if if I were looking for a place from my relative.
And I were looking on Linked In for that assisted living professional and I can connect with someone who was an r.n. and has an assisted living center versus Well Jane was the administrative assistant to the executive director at that assisted living center and now decided to open her own yeah I’m going to do all right.
So if it’s all of it by all means keep it you know and we both our 1st jobs were at various ice cream scooping places there to dry the water is.
Not really relevant to what we do so it’s actually not no one’s going to go back for him and decades ago I went to a why should I hire those business coaches because they scoop ice cream as teenagers no right you know if that’s not relevant.
But do you do shit oh shit oh that longevity because it’s part of what makes you unique one of the reasons that some of our clients are attracted to us is because of our backgrounds I have a background in teaching I’m not severe enough to start kids k. 12 for 5 years yet that’s in my Linked In because it attracts those people that have a spot for kids an education that educators write it speaks to them so do I coach educators not typically we do have a couple but that’s not really our niche.
But it’s relevant so don’t don’t start a brand new profile just because yours use changing the business that you own is I guess likely that is a very good.
Way to get really the number 17 last one on this list and jointly think it’s right so member way back at the beginning of talk about starting your own and we always say you start with joining Linked In groups where your heritage already is be helping people.
Share knowledge you can you can in them well I advise my customers or my clients this way the kind of given the clue that I’m sort of what you do as to why your why you you have some expertise in answering your question besides the person starts with it we’ve got an attorney client that.
Works with parents who have kids with a particular disability see and she joins those groups. And quite often the conversation will come to give a child with with this challenge and said No but I’ve got a lot of clients with this child that have kids with this challenge and I by being in this group I can learn better on how to help them so she is the unusual person unusual place.
Those groups it’s done and I think that’s the head oh goodness Guess what time it is and how to create your page so when people get what you have your you can once you have your profile set up your personal and personal profile now it’s time to create your company paid just like on Facebook people or personal profiles and your business page on Linked In It’s called a company page so why not talk more and told you about with this home and then notifications for connections and messages and your Isn’t there also a place for for your company pay so if you go to work up there on that bar go to work.
And then click the drop down arrow then fold down all the way to the bottom of that action when clicked that down arrow if you look like you are there on the box and it looks like you’re already at the bottom you’re not there is if you move your cursor over to the right hand edge of that box you’ll see that there’s actually a scroll bar and if you scroll all the way to the bottom that’s where that link is to create a company page and then it was through you could create a company page in 15 minutes or less no no joke no exaggeration it’s pretty pretty simple pretty easy.
To do that now before you move on yet take a look at your screen I want to share a couple of things we recently I think last week changed the header on our social media pages and one of things we noticed was oh my God The logo is right behind your head so we put our 25th anniversary letter because we’ve been in business 25 years so if you go look at her page now you’ll see the difference and also on the screen you can see what Sharon has written.
Her name Chris tragedies business you can see how it is an owner president you know she who must be evaded is and then you have the small business marketing plan.
Coaching team phone number all of that information compared to I own this company it’s the contact your contacts that look like that. Cool just look at c r r Harriet right they want it like that co-creator Oh you created didn’t they I tell them are going to Gaza tend to type in co-creator and something how own are they they might very well the congressman.
Could also here’s a way there’s we said 17 but there’s an 180 yeah here’s here’s a bonus for you if you want this you could put your put your e-mail in the chat and say I want this.
Image Size Chichi he would like rather than writing on numbers and if you want to email you this but your e-mail address and then say hey I want to check for the photos and in fact what I’ll probably do is send you the cheat sheet for all the social media pages because it’s just easier for me to send you the women as all of them so you give just a little extra bonus now let’s see you’ve got the.
Copyright slide one of your cast yet the Chichi And I think a couple more things that will come out. Ok it used to be on your personal profile that there was a section on the right hand side that tell you how complete your profile is it’s not anymore apparently they don’t care anymore.
Now it’s here last year when I got 100 and I’m going to 100 with heart and then also want to all sorts of stupid things like what classes you took and called Who cares.
And so now it’s on your business company page sorry but it walks you through and it’ll show the bar and it’s really simple on a sleep 15 minutes or less and you can have your 1st post on the phone.
So here’s another bonus. We talked about getting people from your social media to your Web site here’s one of the things that we do we will post unless our your screen is direct.
If you find a use and we say it’s as if you find the Easter eggs on our website. You get 3 of our books by the way. Those Easter eggs are active right now if you go to our website and find these tracks and send us an e-mail and your last created will send you to robots.
So just for learning how to do it now you could have you could go you know find some graphics of an Easter egg you could have this post up in an hour I have a free report on why.
Or I have a report 10 steps for her better and faster or 3 steps to to the best clock a little something for your hair it’s what I would get that receptive and it was only cause I was trying to prove my.
Daddy’s drug could be up in no time at all and you could have people going to your website to find it here’s the careers that they hand make it really easy on our website it’s it is virtually in fact if you look really closely I’m telling you exactly where in the website.
It’s one click and then you. Get. So you can 17 ways plus bonuses to get past the math and build yourself from Linked In how every page really dialed in so now what that’s a darn good question you know a question for you.
If you’re about to age will have something in his hand up there already their hands. What are your next steps 1st one gem of marketing budget you have a marketing budget.
Hydrolyzed just clicks right past the slider. This includes time in dollars just how much time are you investing in say spend how much time are you investing on the various things that you do are you in networking group that meets every week Wow Ok that’s that’s an hour plus drive time and if you’re driving.
How much do you pay yourself an hour and are you getting a return on your best men. Were were in a networking group and and I’m starting to look at Ok how much time to invest and how much business are we getting it we’re in several different chambers and every year we end up joining a new one and the one that brought us the least revenue disappears is that we’re we’re very cognizant about how we invest our time and our dollars So your idea is very very important.
That really profession advocacy chills are good not really really good at shooting video on your phone and what videos you should choose if you want we’re doing whether or not if you go to your marketing advisor to find out what we’re doing videos are receiving webinars on using video how about yourself on the Do You Know Your process is it like nails in do you have a really tight this is how they find me this is how they connect this is how we help them decide yes or now you know decides to help them to say yes or no as opposed to this is how we sell them it’s it’s more of a consultive approach I have found that in 30 something years of selling is far more effective tool when selling and are you on social media are you there every day.
Is the 4th time I’ve said it you’ve got to be on there every day but if i’m sorry apologize for that you’ve got to be on every day if you’re not.
Let me explain how it works from the platforms point of view. Facebook is free right. Linked In is free right Joe they sell ads well in order to sell more ads they have to deliver an audience and you and I were there audience.
Yeah we’re you know in exchange for being able to use this tool for free we’re pretty much saying Yeah Ok I’m going to see some outs. The more time that someone is on the platform the more ads they can see here’s.
The more active you are on your social media pages the more that social media page will show your stuff. And the more in a chimney you get like strength you know like kind of shares even more people will see your stuff more often.
So this is this is how you use the social media platforms to generate more revenue more eyeballs on I think it’s kind of the simple formula but it’s really important to understand that that’s why these platforms are free is because they sell advertising and you and I were the product so you probably took some of those today and if you noticed yours for your probably going to others or web webinars good job.
You’ve taken notes and you have them ranked in order you know where we’re in a couple of. Mastermind groups that meet a couple times a year we go through in 2 days I will take 15 pages it without.
Sheryl take notes and then we compare aright from what we learned what were you know what thoughts did you have and we rank them. 12 You know what Hop up 12 is a show once 3 when you’re going to do the 1st quarter what are the 3 most important and then number one what’s the one thing after you know the senior ranks so.
Because if you try if we tried to do everything that was on our list all at once we would go from a state of well to a state of overwhelm and we would prefer you to be in a state of well.
That’s why one of our books we have we have a new book that we’re looking for co-authors for that went from number 11 right now it’s sitting at number 2 because we after publishing 6 books in 6 years we took last year off because it was a weird year but now was again Ok time to get back on the track of of writing books so that’s you know having your goals listed out having them in order is very helpful because if you have 20 minutes you know say say when your phone you’re supposed to have an appointment on the phone and they reschedule will know I’ve got 20 minutes with journalists the best and highest use of that 20 minutes you look at the list I could move that work toward being done.
So if any things are challenging. Get help we said a few times because you’re here you get us for a half hour this is not a sales call we’re going to help you do whatever you need done in your market you get 30 minutes and.
We have set up Facebook pages we have and you know help people to find their clients we do an awful lot of different things on these calls so that’s free for you free marketing consultation dot com The answer a few easy question to add in our calendar when it works for you.
Why did it done we would like you know come to our marketing booth as it were. What we’re going to help you do is you have all my questions you want to easily make more sales your questions about how your website should be set up you want to be easy but for some of the things that you’re doing you want to learn how to budget your marketing any of that stuff is open and that has examples you may have other need yes we’ve done a lot of cool stuff so if you do that you’re also going to get our report after 10 you know the.
Tender steps to get down on the internet even during one team a lot more eyeball time is being spent on the Internet we put this together for our clients and then I will give it to you you’re also going to get a an invitation back I’ll give you the invitation now.
We do our Marketing Bootcamp a couple times a year the next one is in March we are doing them virtually we will be here in this the way you’ll be here office we do it over 3 days and it’s 3 hours a day.
In in 9 hours we will bring you through the entire process. On a whole lot of different stuff the right ways to share your products authentically. Save you a lot of time will save you a lot of money if you would like to come to that if you just put your e-mail in the chat we’ll send you all the info that you need to do that so with that it’s Question Time I said we would be done in plenty of time and look at that we have plenty of time to answer your question the fact you can be about Linked In or anything marketing wise anything social media well it’s all you have to do is either put it the track we’re a new yourself and we can get answer question in fact Sandy if you would like to meet yourself I’m assuming what you mean is what level of membership in the link on Linked In But if that’s not really your question then on yourself ask again.
You know I don’t think the right Ali thank you levels of membership Not course that you pay for but I’m just kind of thinking I mean on Linked In for a couple of years I’ve really never and best to a lot of time in it and then now that I do want to invest time to connect with the correct people I want to know what is your recommendation I just starting level membership besides the free wine Ok tell you before you answer that question Sandy if you sing the farmer song we’ll send you a free book to.
Our farmer friends that are going by. Ok. For a farmer’s Asia I’m going to send you one of our back to the job. You know typically I recommend that you stay with the free plan I think.
I don’t usually recommended that you’re not you’re paying for unless unless you’re not getting what you need what do I mean by that so the benefits of a higher level paying membership is mostly in search function.
So here’s my example for you let’s say that your ideal client. I don’t know is a marketing director right you could type into the search engine to linkin marketing director in Los Angeles and you will get a list of thousands of marketing directors and launching a still.
On the free version you’re going to pay for However if your ideal client is a business with $2.00 to $10.00 employees in a and c. no California you’re not going to be able to get that level of detail on the free version so for that you do need to upgrade to the next level up I think it’s.
All new but I almost don’t actually I think a sales navigator I think that for sale to get a person in order to get that level of detail so it kind of depends on what your goal is we say in marketing always know what your goal is what’s the intent because it’s a lot easier to then be able to advise What’s the best way to get to that goal if we know what the intent is.
Write the same down start with the end in mind it’s a Stephen Covey clone you know if you know or are going. Then whatever you do on your mark get there or if you like the Cheshires opt outs after Cheshire Cat which way to go with the cats and where you want to go is that I don’t know I’m a cat that but it doesn’t really matter which are you doing so knowing where you’re going in advance really important and I think that they all I think sales navigator and.
And I think all of the I don’t have any plan that you choose on the dead I think they all have a 30 day trial period so you could always say I think this is what I think this is what I want to play with it and if it’s not what you want then don’t go.
No a dome high pay for it you just try it out. That makes sense cool realtor’s you got metal that was a. Go ahead Scott that we’re listening to where you have your history.
Yes All right cool so I’ve been on Linked In for a long time I’ve got over you know 500 connections or whatever I just recently created by business page.
Like recently like. So. My question is. As far as like posting and being active on a daily basis are you doing this for your personal page for your business page and the 2nd part of that is how do I get those 500 people on a personal page under my business page is it just a matter of like or is it matter you know I mean.
Is there a connection How’s that don’t so I we post to both personal and the business. Sometimes it’s the same thing sometimes it’s not size it’s the something different Usually if I suppose something different I’ll do something different more personal on my personal profile and he isn’t the company page business.
As far as getting your. Connections to follow your business page this is a similar thing with Facebook and the question with Facebook a lot too is but the answer is the same it doesn’t matter unless it speaks to them so there are a few things you can do you can share the post that you post on your company page you can share it to your personal profile and those people that are interested will follow the broad problem Bach.
And they will follow your company page. You can also invite them sometimes in member I said one of the things I do every day as I look at who sent me a note of a connection request sometimes that connection requests is to go follow their pay just so you can invite that you can invite your connections to follow your company page you can reach out to individual connections and send them an actual message on hey I posted this the better be something that’s really compelling whatever this is write a new blog whatever it is that I think would speak to you here’s the link to my company page where that’s probably did and if it’s beach to you please call my company thinks that here’s let’s give you a gimmick 8020 rule as well.

One of the least expensive things that in your printing world arches do a like a 4 by 6 banner without talking about the cost of that. We have found that offering that dropping that little nugget in the water tends to allow you to fish better I would use that as a hey if you do this and or this or with and you’re with your 1st order you also get a 10 foot banner.
It’s it’s better than lowering your price or almost anything else because it’s rather inexpensive so I would use that also consider using out of your social media hey the 1st $5.00 people that like that are on my per personal page that like my business page.
Are in a drawing for a free 10 foot banner and try that various versions of that to see how your numbers go up on a business page. Is a Nets I’m told us.
