00:05
air we will get started in just a moment. Oh, Me Go.
00:39
Oh, I will be starting just a moment. Okay. Julie hopkins is here, best photographer in Los Angeles. Oh my God. Hello, Hello.
00:54
A julie, make sure you put your your information in the chat because when we’re talking about business cards today and people need headshots for their, for their business cards,
01:05
i want to make sure they know the best place to get them. And that’s here. Thank you very much, much appreciate it. Absolutely. Hey,
01:12
we’re connecting good people with a great, great vendor. So Putting it in,
01:22
a sharon says we’re ready We’re dealing with the tech behind the scenes to Let you guys know this,
01:39
but sure. We haven’t, we hadn’t done this webinar in a long time. So I got to revisit an update. It was a lot of fun.
01:50
This was our, the very 1st book we wrote was called 49 stupid things people to business cards and how to fix them. And that came because we had a coach,
02:02
they kept saying you got a book and have a book. But and of course I was saying no, no, no, no, no. And then he said,
02:10
well, if you have your book written, then you have it done by march. I’ll let you promoted to 300 people in an audio book came into play.
02:25
So are we almost lost almost so that that’s where this book this book came from. I was, I was pushed into it by a coach. And now we’ve got 7,
02:40
I’m sorry. Oh,
02:48
okay. You should have control and we’re sir, you’re ready? Are we recording? We are cool. It started as soon as you logged in. So I didn’t stop it.
02:57
So I had, I told that story and those folks were hearing yes. Hold righty. Business card. You’re remember, this is your prospects 1st introduction.
03:08
When you’re meeting face to face about who you are and what you do. Let’s make them count, shall we? This is our all rights reserved slide if you’re doing webinars and using your intellectual property,
03:25
make sure that you have all rights reserved slide. If you would like ours, you’ll get our e mail address later. We’ll send you ours. You can strip out our information,
03:34
put your information and share it with your lawyer. Make sure it’s cool, but you know, usually protect your intellectual property. So yeah, today’s book was based on our 1st book to the web.
03:47
Yes, this webinar. What did I say? Today’s book, but his book was based on a website. Yeah. To webinar is based on a book this I will share with you that this was I think this book took longer to write than any of our other 6.
04:06
Mostly because it was our 1st and writing, the 1st book always takes longer. The challenge was not knowing when to stop. And it came because I was challenged by a coach to write a book,
04:21
and I had the opportunity to speak in front of several 100 people. And I’m sitting there at the, at the desk. I had blinking cursor syndrome that you see in me,
04:32
in the movies, what to write about. And I had just a bunch of networking at different trade shows. And I had stacks of business cards. I got,
04:40
you know, I remember thinking a whole bunch of these business cards had while stuff that pisses. Yeah. You know, stuff wrong with them. I wonder how many categories there are.
04:51
While, as you can see by the title, there were 49 different categories. And the book went from there, so ah, your business cards in your business,
05:01
you’re being judged from the moment they see your card. And depending on the industry that you’re in, you should all look at the bottom of that chart.
05:09
See which industry you’re in. And the likelihood of a negative perception, if your business card well sucks. If you’re a designer, that number goes up way high.
05:20
If you’re in the public sector, they don’t seem to really care. By the way, julie hopkins, your, since you are in the creative sense,
05:29
that would be your card. Now, if you’ve ever seen julie hopkins card from the julie put she did, she did awesome. Best photographer, l A dot com.
05:40
You would know that her business card is prestige and very cool. But if you’re in business, half, if your business card sucks, half the people are going to think,
05:49
oh dear. And that that passes on to you. And sometimes they don’t know why. It bothers them or why, you know, it doesn’t seem often we’re going to show you some of the tips from that that the staffs are kind of civil,
06:05
almost 60 percent of people feel that having their business card is essential and it is especially if you want to do business with either gen x or older folks.
06:14
We those in the older generations. If you don’t have a business card, we tend to think what’s wrong with you. And then if you’re millennial and younger and you do have a business card,
06:26
they think what’s wrong with you. So it’s, it’s a very definite generational thing, but can her. And so those doubts are, all of their color cards are moved.
06:40
Are more memorable when they’re full color. We’ll talk about that a little bit. And 39 percent of people would choose not to visit someone if the card was cheap looking and we’ll be talking about that a little bit as well.
06:56
Why they’re important? Well, very simple. It’s the 2nd thing that you do with that personal touch. The way you can take notes when you’re at a trade show or a networking event.
07:08
strengthens trust it. People remember you easier when they get back to their desk. So it’s good to have your business card and keep it up to date.
07:18
Ah, yeah. What in doubt when you’re looking at your card? I want you to think ha, if I was the owner of a vice president of a fortune 500 company,
07:29
would my card look like this? And here are a few examples of, of some of those cards. They’re actually rather simple, rather easy. Good old meg whitman who ran for governor of California and got creamed,
07:42
steve jobs, and you see what I mean. And then there steve martin, who had to have fun with it. I’m surprised so many of them have their signature on them.
07:50
Well, they don’t, they said this was somebody went and collected them. These are, this is from an article or people collected cards and they wanted to get the autograph auto.
07:59
And gotcha, if I was, if I would, honestly, if I was meeting, you know, bill gates, i can have your card. Can I have your autograph,
08:07
gray played, but I would, I would frame it if I had, I would do that. You know, to, to remember the meeting. You know,
08:15
when we, when we meet some folks, we just met larry hogan who was the governor of maryland. We are here last like 6 weeks that we should have had him sign a card because now we’re going to be,
08:28
you know, westmore has the new government governor apparently we couldn’t box those together. That would have been really cool. Cool. ha, that’s an interesting thing would mean somebody famous have them sign their card and keep it.
08:39
That’s neat. All right. That was a cool idea. I like the idea. All right, so here’s what we’re gonna be talking about today. How to create your targeted message.
08:51
Because if you don’t have your message targeted properly, it doesn’t really matter what goes on your card because you won’t create a good card on 10 ways to make it much better.
09:00
But hank, your book is 49 stupid things and how to fix up. Yeah, I know we’re not going to cover all 49 because we don’t have that much time.
09:09
You’re going to get a chance to get the book for free, so don’t worry about some really good and some really great business card designs. Your next step and we’re going to give you some free stuff along the way.
09:20
You like free stuff, right? Free stuff in the chat, just because here’s what today is not about. You’re not going to say, well, gee,
09:28
that’s great, but it only works if I hire hank to Design my car. Now you’re gonna be able to take these notes to a graphic artist of your choice.
09:36
Ah, if you do not have a graphic artist and you want to be connected with a couple, let us know we do some amazing graphic artists that are even better than me.
09:45
And, and printers and printers to get that done for you. If you have questions, please hold on, we’ll take all your questions at the end,
09:54
a little about us, our, our business began. I own a promo company and I always knew that it was going to get leveraged into coaching business because I gave away marketing assistance as a bonus by your pens from us and your half.
10:12
And I’ll give you marketing help for free. That was not the best business model. Got leveraged into coaching, and a couple of things happened. One,
10:21
I begged you, Yes. Well, you tell that story. I was working in in corporate office in h R management. He had a client that needed the h R and office systems help.
10:35
And so we join forces and really never look back yet. She never left. And we figured out that mastermind coaching gave us a different direction to go,
10:45
because we, yeah, we know coaches need coaches and we had looked at coaching programs. Most of them are really alike. There was one person, one person at a time.
10:55
Whereas where a team that does this, they had what they had and usually it wasn’t what we needed. And it was way too transactional, meaning give me one and I show up this amount of times and and sharon and I changed our program.
11:09
We created our own coaching program to the coaching program, which we wish good found. Now it wasn’t without challenges. We evolved our business. heck, we moved to sedona and we thought that our business is going to change where we were going to do monthly boot camps.
11:26
And people would come and attend our boot camp. And we would work really, you know, 3 or 4 days a month. challenge to that was see that map getting people to figure out how to get from phoenix to out to sedona was a harder challenge that we thought.
11:40
So we rebranded ourselves twice in 15 months. Don’t recommend that you can do it, but we don’t recommend it. Which meant, you know, new logos,
11:49
new cards, new everything that we did. And what we’ve learned, we’ve been bright braced niche coaching and, and showing small business owners that are really good with what they do,
12:02
how to make their businesses better. And we teach that. It’s a steady stream of mostly small corrections constant, but small mostly small corrections that make you successful.
12:14
Because of that, we’ve started doing our small business breakthrough caps. We do those twice a year. We’re in a day. We put your entire marketing plan together for you.
12:25
And when people go through that, those are the folks that tend to refer us. It’s really cool. We’ve been in a whole lot of publications of radio shows and podcasts.
12:36
We’ve now 7 books that book and the left the business card book was just the 1st been interviewed by some really cool people, including kevin harrington. It was the 1st shark they hired for shark tank.
12:49
Cool, dude. Sure. And actually has his, his cell phone number, her phone, he gave her his cell phone number, but Not miss bitter.
13:00
much. Now much. Now look. I have james’s card. We are interviewed by james now and check. He was a be secret. Yeah, I have his number.
13:09
I have forbes is not, I don’t have. Yeah, but that’s the way that goes. Not that we compete much. Ah, you’ve turned a lot of want your printer isn’t to instantly profitable entrepreneurs.
13:21
And we mentor small business owners to understand that. You know, you started your business to have it serve your life and so many other times it ends up going the other way.
13:34
So our coaching clients learn how to have their business serve their life. And our mission is to teach how to build your business. The easiest, the most effective ways.
13:44
Today we want to show you how your graphics, when they’re done right, are going to promote your business. Right? So why are we creating your marketing as well?
13:52
You never create the marketing message without knowing exactly who you’re creating for. And I want to share this at the top. You’re going to see some examples of business cards.
14:03
Couple of them or mine. Put that right out there cuz I have made so many of these mistakes. It’s ok to have more than one business card.
14:13
If you’re targeting more than one audience. Having a card for each of those audiences can make a tremendous difference in who you give them to and this how you figure it out.
14:26
So imagine that these 4 women all want to buy a car. They’re probably not looking for the same kind of car. They’re probably not looking for the same benefits and features of that car.
14:36
So a good sales person is going to message each of them differently in order to attract them to their dealership. And the same thing is true for you.
14:43
It is quite possible that these 4 women could all benefit from your product or service, but you’ll need to message each of them differently in order to attract them to you.
14:55
You know, here’s, here’s the hand to express those big gathered demographic information. By offering you free food and when you go to the website, they ask you a whole bunch of questions,
15:06
how your meal was and then they get to this slide slide. The 11th at 12 slides where they, they find out demographically, who you are, and you want to know demographically who your clients are.
15:18
You’ll probably have more than one. definite one. I see somebody put their note, their information, the chat there, a dog breeder. Well, if somebody doesn’t like dogs,
15:28
they’re not your audience. And then when we start narrow it down, they want to dog, but they want, you know, those particular breeds. It makes a difference how you market yourself,
15:38
if you, if you specialize in a couple of different breeds than those are the ones that you’re going to have on your cards. And in all of your marketing,
15:45
it’s really not that difficult. We have a demographic chart like this to our clients where we say, look, look at who your clients are and what are the things that are,
15:59
are the same. Most of the time, it’s 34, maybe 5 demographics that allows you to sort them and you’ll probably have again, in this case,
16:11
5 different sorts of folks. But as you do that you get to create your message the right way. Now the other half of that equation are the sake of graphics,
16:26
that’s what’s going on between their ears and what is their hopes, their needs, desires, their goals. Because people don’t buy for logical reasons. It’s an emotional decision quite often.
16:39
So your business card is really we want them to start thinking of it as a, a sidewalk side and this is an actual sidewalk. So I took this picture while we were traveling in London a few summers ago.
16:51
We were walking from our air b and B to my sister’s home. It caught our attention because we are big bang theory bands. And so we thought this be great,
16:59
we’re going to have a, will go and have a great time when some pounds. And then we saw the day, you know, we’re going to be gone by then never mind,
17:05
we kept rocking. So it’s not their whole menu, right. They didn’t tell us everything that they do or everything that they serve. It was just enough to for those that are free it to raise their hand or walk in and go ahead and register we were,
17:19
we were not the right people. So we kept going. So in this case, that, that sign, you could imagine that is a 3 and a half by 2,
17:26
which specially in the screen exactly. Now that, that car doesn’t have their entire menu doesn’t, doesn’t have all drinks. They sir notes of food, nope.
17:37
Or out. Now if this were their actual business card, they are kind of missing their address. Yeah. But it gives us that they could have it to you and it would have given you enough information to be an invitation to work with them.
17:50
Work go in. So start thinking about your business card as that sidewalk sign and you can put everything on it. All right, let’s look at some business cards and talk about them showing.
18:02
Oh, this 1st one. By the way, every business card you’re going to see I received in person. I have, I have the, I have these business cards.
18:16
I have touched them. I have looked at them, judged them. And what’s really funny is that when I was writing the book, there were some friends and said,
18:27
can you put my business card in there? And I looked at their harness, you know, your card, you know, there’s nothing really wrong with it said,
18:34
well, do a different card for me that that sucks. So there are a couple that are in the, but there are none that are up to today.
18:42
But there are some that were like that are all the ones today in the book. Yes, they are. All right, let me think. I think so.
18:50
Yeah, I think their own but so you don’t want hard to read type basis. A lot of folks that they get they’ll go into like can, but that online things,
19:02
that’s a pretty type face. I’ll just use that. It’s if it, if you can’t read it, in other words printed out. You know, on this,
19:10
from your screen to your, to a sheet of paper. If you were to print this card out, you’d see it’s really hard to read. We never put read on black.
19:22
It’s very difficult for the Human eye to read. I even if you outline is white, it’s hard and just a marketing tool. Having a U R L that has a dash,
19:35
it means you’re losing traffic. Yeah. Don’t remember the dash, no, they don’t. And then every time you say your u R L dash, don’t forget the dash,
19:46
which they will. Yeah. No matter how much you say it will still forget it. Exactly. So you don’t want to do it. By the way.
19:52
Have you found the owner’s name of you found dave’s david, so can you name? Yeah, yeah it’s, it’s kind of buried. So it was really nice now,
20:01
really nice people. I’ve seen them do, you do events, they do an amazing event. So feel free to grab their information, and if you’re there,
20:12
os angeles area, and you need to have an event to put on with games, give them a call, give them some business up. Don’t print them in your office.
20:22
You see this is hard to read. This is hard to read and this was a good scan. I did everything I could to scan this Well, but they printed on thin paper.
20:37
And then they took them apart that what did they call preferred? Yeah, they had perforated paper that they bought it some store and then that’s how they printed it,
20:48
which meant that the color was not consistent and they were very hard to read. So I get impression professionally printed. If you need a great printer and I’ve got a couple that can do them and you’re going to get a chance to do that.
21:04
Ok. No stickers. Here are 2 different different cards. I am a decided, well one of them that she had just gotten an email address, so she put the sticker on the back that’s on the left and the one on the right had changed information and she,
21:26
I think, I think they got their, their cards finished and they remembered, oh God, we didn’t put a phone number on it so yeah, they had to go back and do that.
21:34
No stickers, it just looks so completely entirely and professional. So no stickers get him repetitive. So worse along that line Don’t crush stuff out.
21:53
And the, this, this book, this came from, these are like all pet peeve. So I got a big soapbox. This is the whole thing is a soap box moving thread because I can’t stand cards that are done wrong.
22:08
If you get new information, print new cards, but I’ll waste 40 bucks because I had 10000 a look. You look, you don’t look professional are more important.
22:20
It is so important to do that. By the way, it’s not one of the, I don’t think it’s one of today’s or it’s later on that card on the lower right was done from one of those online services.
22:32
And that is a stock background. You don’t want to have the same background as, as thousands and thousands of other people. So no handwriting on your cards.
22:43
It’s just time to get new cards. And I love that on the upper left, they had to put it’s all lower case, which it doesn’t actually,
22:53
it doesn’t have to be that it was that how old their cards were. And that’s why they needed to put a new phone number on it. Just painful her sir.
23:07
Up. What do you do Now?
23:12
Susan, upper right hand corner. We just started having a conversation in town the other night she has and she knows. She gets the credit for the absolute worst business card I think I’ve ever seen.
23:28
Because when you look at her susan’s card, and this isn’t something i’ve ever told her, I’ll tell you what she really does in a moment. So it looks like she could do jewelry.
23:41
Yeah, but it says real estate investor. What she actually is, as a relationship counselor, she was here to match the matchmaker. If you’re single,
23:51
she finds you a match and that’s not what her card says at all, but that’s the one she was giving out for a long time. The one in the lower right?
24:03
Again, there were either a manufacturer. I don’t know what they do at all. Yeah. So if we can’t tell what you do, it doesn’t work now.
24:13
I like the upper left piano lessons. But why isn’t there a piano graphic? Why do we have birds? Well, because they got their cards from one of those online services that,
24:25
that doesn’t help when you use one of those online services. All it does, they give you some pretty graphics sometimes, but there is nobody there looking over your shoulder helping you design it.
24:38
Now that your care is, has 123 different type faces and which is a little too much because they don’t batch. So you’ve got, we’ve got to be able to tell what you do.
24:52
Oh yes, here it is. There are 6 businesses here using 3 different online stock graphics, which means that thousands and thousands of other people are using your graphics.
25:12
Now, if I can, in a very short period of time, collect cards that have the same graphics as other people I was, I’m one business person.
25:23
In that case, I was in, in Los Angeles, in a relatively short period of time when I was collecting cards for this book. If I can do it,
25:33
how many other people are actually using your graphics? So this is another reason not to use the those online services by the way, they are cheap. When you think I just needed something cheap of your local printer is going to be able to give you just as good deal because by the time you’re done with all of their ops and extra as you start paying the same well and they’ll,
25:54
they’ll proof it Yeah, whereas the online services more. Yep. Oh dr. albert, the sweetest human being. She is awesome. She helps google get pregnant.
26:05
serious that that was her, her gig hub. If you’re promoting other companies like in this case, the facebook, instagram, Twitter, and yelp logos are as large as hers.
26:18
We don’t want to do that. In fact, if we can get it everyone, we’re pretty much all on social media. You could make them tiny,
26:30
you can put them on the back, find us on social media. Don’t really know why you need to do that. But if you’re feeling the need to do that and there you go.
26:38
As long as I’m looking at this, at her card, let us stop using the triple double use on the U R L. This should have been no double use of it.
26:49
It should have been capital u, C S C C, and then lowercase a R A. So people understand, oh it’s her name, u C.
26:58
C. care dot com. Okay, I get it. So but let us never all use the double use again. Also in her email address. Yeah.
27:10
If you, when you, if you can capitalize your name and the U. R L, it will make it easier, otherwise it just looks like a bunch of letters drawn together and people are then wait,
27:20
what am I looking at here? Now let’s give her credit her. Her email address is based on our website. Yes, yes, that’s some of the other cards we’ve already seen are you’ve seen ya who’s,
27:30
you know yahoo stands for. You always have other options. We’ve seen g mail addresses and why promote g mail when you can promote your own website? So she got the you the email address completely right,
27:42
but let’s stop promoting other companies, especially social media company, but promote our own company. Oh steven, without steven steven was a client a long time ago.
27:57
And this is, this is what he came to us. This was his business card. Note that it’s very hard to read and his see there’s that double use on the email address.
28:08
It’s hard to read. Yes. A very thin type face. In fact, here’s 3 different type faces that are, that were difficult to read. On a reverse background that a reverse means light writing on dark background.
28:26
Very hard to read. We don’t want to do that. What we want it to look like 2 or 3 different designs that I gave steaming instead. So you can,
28:37
you can have a lot of fun and make them look better. And yes, he wanted to double use that just continuously drives me crazy. All right,
28:48
no real reason to have more than one u R L, especially when they’re close. We don’t want to do that. That’s confusing, it’s very confusing.
28:59
And you know, I don’t remember where the q r code went to, but I think it was somebody digital somewhere different. So we don’t want to do that.
29:09
I’m speaking of way too much copy. Remember the now the car in the upper left hand corner, it’s a dot that’s, that’s like a Triple. You’ve got a U R L that’s way long and it has the w’s and they’ve got a G mail address.
29:28
And the business, the one of the phone numbers was crossed out because they’re no longer using it. On the right, sarah was trying to tell her entire story.
29:39
You don’t need to do that. You really don’t need to tell your your story that way. Because actually it is Julie. Do you recommend you are?
29:49
Yeah, julie will get to that, but yeah, sure codes can be good. Well, I think we, we have a spot in that and if you’re using i,
29:59
what I love, isn’t that lower on the one on the right lower left hand corner. Oh look, you can get it on a computer, you know,
30:06
we get it, We want to make it very simple for people to understand and read and they’re not going to pay attention. Remember market the gold marketing is getting people to raise their hand to say,
30:20
yeah, I’d like a little more information and sales takes over afterwards. You don’t want your card to do all of the sales. And then there were the typos.
30:33
Yes, his email, his, his website on the right was correct. The one on the left was not and I do pointed out to him and said if that was the answer,
30:44
go figure. Yeah. Yeah. You know. Huh. So we want to make sure that our spelling is correct. Now. Oh God, I am I been,
31:02
I been given a hard time to a whole lot of these business cards. I want you to know. I am not perfect. They’re perfect for me.
31:11
Yeah. Well, these are, these were 2 of my cards in the, in the promo world. I had this really cool that I did get got to promote that was our,
31:20
our tagline for a little while. And I wanted to scream off the page and instead of, instead of using, making people type out, hey, get promotionally minded.
31:32
I have the p mind to the address instead. Yeah, there wasn’t smart. Still have the yes they still were, but it just wasn’t smart. And then the one on the bottom when you got rid of the W,
31:50
I did, I did learn, but hey, and then on the, on the left side, i’m trying to do way too much on the back side of the card.
32:03
So I still don’t know why I added my my title on it. Why did I feel the need to put the president on my card thinking, thoughts,
32:13
some people might care about lowered. Now here’s, here’s the other. One good point. We didn’t do only 81, 87054265.
32:26
We are the one a and the 800 version of it. If you spell out something on your card, do add the numbers because no have to think people off for no real reason.
32:39
Oh God, it got worse. It did get worse. Oh, dear lord. Then I wanted the card to work for the pro business and for a greeting card company that we were using called send out cards.
32:54
So julie, here, the answer your question. Yeah. q r code i’m, I’m a big believer into our codes and those q r codes would take you to those.
33:03
You are else backed up. I’m sure those will still work. So Oh, what 2 u. R l’s? Yes. One for the promo company.
33:14
And one for the coaching page. Oh dear god, what was I thinking? So learn from my mistakes. I am not perfect. So let’s go through a few days and doubts about your cards and when you’re distributing them.
33:32
So they don’t have to be a 3 and a half by 2 inch piece of laminated cardstock firm get are not foldable. I did balloons for bruce ask off at cit,
33:47
inflate desired size and break to get a plastic surgeon. And he wanted promo ideas and I gave him like a dozen different ideas and he wasn’t thrilled. And then I just sort of written it,
33:58
Well, why don’t we just do balloons that say inflate desired size. And he liked, yeah. I said, I’m kidding. You know, this is a great idea.
34:07
I do. Well, any use the term here to those several tides. So good there. It’s a very affordable business card. nail files are a very affordable business cards And,
34:23
and some people leave their business card everywhere. I’m ok with that, but there are some places you don’t leave. Your business card don’t leave a stacking in in the bathroom.
34:37
And Now I’ve, I saw this car in l. A. It was very cold. It’s absolutely adorable. I think it’s kind of neat and they put business card bag that’s all of the car.
34:48
So people could just peel them off the one on the right. Upper right base to park across from the panera bread because their office was in there. And I thought that was,
35:00
that was kind of the, the one, the one warning we would give you. If you’re going to do this on your car, is to make sure that you have a commercial auto policy check with your sure your auto ensure and make sure that you are covered.
35:12
If you do this to your car. Yes, I love the pink, but so excited the eyelash its pepto bisman. It’s a doorbell. House that color.
35:24
Ask us about that story sometime. Love part to you could add large magnets. dear door that point to this business, every time this guy got out of his car,
35:33
he puts the business card holder. He attaches it to the vehicle. I think that’s kind of cool. Let’s give you some good cards.
35:43
This is Michelle bender, sky in Los Angeles. I love her business card, still have her card that approved on it, which gives people places to write notes after they’ve matter.
35:58
I think that’s really the information. It’s just, it’s clear. It’s easy. What’s not to love stewart juggler. I liked his card cuz it had a very cool graphic that shows you how to stop smoking easily.
36:16
I would have capitalize the S in stop the S and the smoking, and I would capitalize the ca, but it’s a good car and have them use of yeah,
36:26
better email address, but store is a really good guy. I really liked stewards. So this, these got, these were good cards. Couple of great cards.
36:35
I think lanes laney zach’s part is awesome. I love that on the left side, said yes, she gave that cue arco, but if you’re still using a flip blown turnover over,
36:46
get the information you’re fashioned way. So again, your question, julie laney does use q archives, i think it’s really neat and she does a lot of business with mercury.
36:56
So she, you can see that she’s a Mercury agent, but her insurance Agency was at the top. Gary is a client of ours. He works with veterans,
37:11
he coaches, veterans, so his vertical card cleans out that message very simply and easily. By way, if you’re a veteran or no veteran that’s transitioning out of the military,
37:24
grab gary’s information. He’s an amazing coach for veterans. Ah, one of our clients lane, correct? She’s in in Arizona. She’s and she’s the only a S E certified master mechanic in all of arizona.
37:41
It’s a woman owns a shop. So her she has 2 different backs to her cards. One that she leaves in the office that has appointment dates and one on the right that she carries with her.
37:54
So she kind of pixar men a little bit because her, her marketing plan is to never talk to men, only talk to women and let them know that a woman owns a shot.
38:07
Our contractor here on the eastern shore. Mike, mike came to us, he needed cards, so I put his together doesn’t have a website, doesn’t really seem to anyone.
38:19
He’s very busy, but that’s his email address. If you’re on the eastern shore and want to contractor, he’s awesome. Don’t call them till we’re done with our house though,
38:28
because I can’t keep him that busy. I, janelle and larry are our realtor is in the sedona area. They wanted their card to show they were sit down a base,
38:41
but without being to to real Estate. If you get what I mean, so they show the area and they, they put their tagline on, May show all of the different areas that they specialize in.
38:57
And cindy chris, that of course, as a financial planner, i all she’s doing is puts her u R L on there because she’s the financial planners of arizona.
39:07
And she does have the shorter email address. And then the only thing she has on the back is a disclaimer that all financial planners need and their space for notes.
39:22
If you have 2 people in your business, our favorite mover, c, jane his wife lives there. You know debbie debt. Oh yeah. I know that liz worked from sorry,
39:36
debbie’s life. Well, that would be, that would be awkward if they only hire veterans as their, as their movers. So you can see there,
39:47
they promote who they’re hiring and that they’re always around and available. Great movers, i would in fact we just had c J move, we have him move.
39:58
My dad from San Diego to l. A. He moved us within l. A. moved us to Arizona and he moved us from arizona to Maryland.
40:10
He’s moved all sorts of friends if you need an incredible, honest, awesome mover. grab his information there. And of course, shared the I, this is our card.
40:22
There’s 2 of us. We put ourselves on there are little tagline. And you’ll see r U R L is on one side and our 30 minute gets focused is on the other.
40:37
Our other card we give this out when we speak, it has a lot of our quotes. The purpose of this card is we tell them, put this on your mirror if you need a little bit of positivity in the morning as positive quotes on it.
40:52
Now what are we doing with this cardwell kind of symbol? We want people to see us in the morning when they’re brushing their teeth and at night when they’re brushing their teeth and they see us a little extra time.
41:05
But we’re giving them positivity as a tradeoff. Right view a few wrap up tips. No frills, don’t, don’t try and have your car Do too much.
41:19
Make it as simple as possible. We’d like Sam sarah type faces, in other words, the ones without all the squiggly coolie cool, things like the type faces you see here.
41:30
The brain process is color before it, processes words and shape. So calming colors, colors that go well together, plan on that. Don’t over complicated,
41:41
especially if it’s your logo and make it easy to read. Alright? They’ve just gotten a whole bunch of different ways to inexpensively market their business using their business card.
41:53
What are your next steps? Here’s a question for you. How many people learn something new to your records? Learn something new, raise your hand or put yes in the chat,
42:02
that’d be awesome. Oh, I see that In consuela needs the military. I did already. Oh, she gave gary’s info. Awesome. completely. You’re going to love gary.
42:15
One of the nicest human beings i’ve ever met. And I don’t say I just going to be the client bruley a carrying wonderful human being. I would give his number to anybody,
42:31
right? carrier next steps. You should create a marketing budget for your marketing. Now that isn’t necessarily just dollars. That’s time. You know, what are you doing in your business to market yourself?
42:45
From a time point of view, you’re going to get really proficient at some basic tools using video and knowing what your sales funnel are and your social media.
42:55
We’re going to show you how to do that in a sec. And you should have a list of your marketing goals. I would list them in order your top 12 because there’s 12 months in a year.
43:07
And if you ramp up your marketing one month at a time, adding new things that will help you stay out of overwhelm and we’re small business coaches for the overwhelmed.
43:19
So we want to do that, the top, the re, while those are the 1st things you’re going to do because they’re the most important ones and then number one is,
43:28
what are you going to do 1st, to improve your marketing? And if any of these things are challenging, let’s help you. We’re going to start by giving you for free ways to,
43:39
for all of you that like debris stuck here, you grab your pen, you’re going to want to write this stuff down, Get help the 2 questions we hear from people all the times.
43:50
Okay, what about your 1st and how can I do it faster? Ok, fine. Your 1st step, you’ve seen this u R L on almost every slide.
44:00
Write it down because you get 30 minutes with us. That’ll take you to our scheduling link or if you answer a couple of really simple questions so that we will be ready for you on your call.
44:12
And then you get a half hour time with us. That is not a sales call. There’s no way we can take credit cards. You’re not going to get a bill for it’s our entire sales pitches are our coaching program.
44:26
You can see it a company marketing plan dot com there. The whole, the other 29 minutes, 48 and a half seconds is for you. We could design your business card on that in that time.
44:38
I know I could, we have set up social media pages for people. We’ve talked about budgeting. We’ve talked about a char challenges, so whatever you need right now,
44:50
to help your business, that’s what, how to get their faster is for. When you book it, when you come in the call, let us know which book you’d like.
45:00
And we’ll give you whichever book you want. If you’re on this, this call in, you’d like the 49 stupid things having seen 10 of them and you want to see what the other 39 are.
45:10
It’s a really easy read. It’s a fun re, if you’re a lawyer on this call, you really should get the haven’t do that because not, chapter 17 is all about lawyers.
45:20
And I don’t, and the only reason I always remember that is, is John, have the check number was 17 and he was a celtic and that just sticks in my cloud.
45:28
I know. And if you want to value your business card, we’ll do that once you, if you book time with us, we’ll look at your card and we’ll get you an incredible price on a 1000 cards.
45:39
If you need new cards, what same could all price? It’s less than $70.00, including tax in shipping and the design of your card. Oh my gosh.
45:49
Yeah, we’re not getting rich on business cards, but we want to make sure that people do have really good business cards. And the, the other thing is you’ll get an invitation to one of our boot camps.
45:59
The next ones are coming up in March. We do them virtually on the 25th. And again, on the 30th of March, we go from $9.00 to $5.00 pacific where we put your entire plan together in a day.
46:15
If you’re a student of success and you read books and blogs and podcast, if you’re ready for growth, come to boot camp. If you’re invest money and marketing and advertising,
46:25
you want to see how to do it a better way. Come to our boot camp if you’re really motivated to make improvements in what you’re doing. I,
46:32
if you go either scan the q r code that’s there, or you can go to plan your marketing dot com and you can pick up the day of your choice.
46:41
Or if you want, honestly, if you want, you can just drop your, your email and chat with a day. And we’ll, we’ll get you signed up that way if you wish.
46:52
So there are 3 ways you can come in and we’ll put your marketing plan together for you. All right, so there we are, the, the U.
47:00
R l’s that we showed you for our up. If you have questions pop on up there me and we can answer. There was one question, what was the 1st question where you can put them in the chat?
47:11
So there is actually a lawyer. I think there’s 2 on the call. Yeah. And wow. She’s, you know, I don’t, I know it,
47:21
you know, I, I made an assumption that it was a she, I don’t actually know that. So this one person uses a G mail address to catch all the spam and only gives out the address that goes with business to lawyers and that sort of thing,
47:36
but now even not getting spam. So the question or the question was, sorry, the question was, what is our trick for not getting spammed? There isn’t one,
47:49
you know, I, I have email addresses that, that I use for very specific, you know, describe the things. Yeah. I was thing tend to get family,
47:59
but I have, I have an email address that I use just for, you know, a small group of friends. And we have a email conversation.
48:09
It gets spam. Ah, I don’t know how you keep from getting spam. It’s just so there are a couple of things you know, what one of them is don’t,
48:21
don’t hit reply and asked to be taken off their list. Usually the unsubscribe button is okay, by hitting reply and telling them if they are a spammer,
48:34
right? So it’s not just marketing, but they really are spammer. Now they know they have a live email address. You’re just gonna get more stuff.
48:39
So it’s better, just delete it than to even worry about it. And then we did have a conversation with someone today who said he does have a way to,
48:49
to help with spam and show me that show if you want to be connected with jeremy, who does have a way send us an email and ask us to connect you with jeremy and we will connect you with your so those are,
49:03
are 2 tips for you. Yeah. Or retire and turn up all your email and moved live just the key west and fish for for your day. What other questions do you have folks?
49:21
Anybody else? You can mute if you wish. Where were finished. That’s. That’s great that you want it, but the, the instruction is please send us an email and I just put our email address in the chat.
49:34
Send us an email and ask us to connect you with jeremy. Because we have, we’re, we’re backed up from here, we’re going from one thing to the next and it will be hours before we get back to e mail to connect you with jeremy.
49:45
And by then I will have forgotten that you put it in the chat. So please send us an email, so it’s right there and I could easily forward it.
49:51
Yeah, we’ve got 3 coaching calls. By the time we get free lunch and goals and then then we’re doing a wet and international webinar for we’re going on somebody else’s stage.
50:02
So yeah, we’re not even until 8 o’clock our time tonight. So for sure. Other questions about business cards? There was nothing in the chat Here.
50:13
Any one and muting well then, then we will, we will call it a day or look at that. Glad to have you have everybody their email addresses.
50:23

50:34
