There are a great source for education. Ah, see, there is a or all rights reserved slide. So the question is, how do you define marketing?
And why does your marketing work for you in your business? What’s the, what’s chad, the biggest challenge that’s going on in your business. I want you to start thinking about that because at the end of this will take questions we’ve blocked out time.
We always make sure that we finish in plenty of time. So we have plenty of time for questions, so if we cover something real quick and you want more in depth info,
raise your hand and we will cover that. So whatever notes you take today, make sure you add them into where you’re written, marketing plan that lives.
Now last year our world all got put on pause, but that is starting to change and it’s really exciting. Oh my goodness. We get to go outside from time to time.
That’s really with other what we learned last year though, was that, that Mr. darwin’s theory that the isn’t necessarily the strongest or that survive, but the ones that can adapt the quickest that came into play a lot.
There were a lot small businesses that make it last year, but it has nothing to do with the size of the business, relates your ability to adapt.
We tell all of our clients and we go through things with our clients that were always going to be making a lot of small changes. You know, you could have your general manager or your assistant handling some things that your last assistant for general manager didn’t handle.
Right, cindy. So she’s just gonna be 9. I just realized what part it was. What are you going to let her go? Now I’m going to type it of the child.
Here’s what’s really cool about being a small business owner. We know that of the original fortune $500.00 over 80 percent of them aren’t there. They got replaced by others because they weren’t able to adapt.
So the fact that you’re able to give yourself a pat on the back say we’re going to be talking about how to create your target message. Because no matter what marketing tactic you use and we’re going to go through a bunch of them today.
The message that you use in that tactic. For example, if you’re posting onto a social media platform, putting you can just put anything up, you have to be talking to your target audience.
We’re going to start by discussing that a little whole bunch of myths that we see all the time in most those let’s we learn from our, our clients.
So let’s see. She has rama we’re actually are, are, I can talk a little louder, l, but you know, this is, we use the same settings that we use all the time.
So we’re, we’re kind of you, if you can always dial in use your if you need to do that, we’re going to tell your next steps.
And we’re going to give you some free stuff actually along the way. We’re going to give you a bunch of free stuff. Yeah. Here’s what, here’s what today isn’t about The things you’re gonna learn today.
You can do by yourself. You don’t need us. You don’t need anybody, we’re available and you’re going to get a website that you can go to and get one or 2 out of one to one.
You help for a half hour, but everything you’re going to see today, you’re gonna be able to do yourself mostly because we’ve been to an awful lot with ours.
And we hate it when we get to the end. And the only way it works is if you hire the person doing that, so that’s not what we must,
not 105 or. So if you’ve got questions, you can hold on to him. You can put him in the chat, no guarantee. We’re going to answer it during that,
but we will, we will get to it. At the very least, we’ll get to everyone at the end. You won’t leave without having a question answered a little about us.

Not you’re not living to serve your business. And when you, when you make that little shift in, in mindset, it’s going to change a lot about what you do in your business and that we,
we go through that with our clients. It’s that mindset shift is, is pretty constant with all of our clients. Today, we’re going to teach you all sorts of cool stuff,
including how we got 12 percent of our new revenue through social media. That’s going to be a lot of fun. Oh, see, lasted last little bit about us.
We’ve been quoted in a whole bunch of publications. I actually had to change that to 50 because the number clicked over. We run our small business, break to boot camp couple of times a year.
And this is the 1st free thing we’re going to give you. Last year, one of the shifts that we made was that we turned our podcast into a video.
We had done 243 episodes of our radio show. And we took a little break and started doing them as videos. The only thing we do on the pod cast is we interview you.
It’s free and all the questions are designed to make you look really good. So if you want a digital asset that you can put on your website and then shared your social media that you can share with prospects.
If they want to know what you’re all about, say, hey, you know, I was interviewed on the market and checklist. You can just check it out.
And the interview is it’s really long. It’s 7 minutes 21 seconds. Well, if most of the design a bursary is July 21 and we wanted it to be we were doing,
we taught our clients that brevity is rewarded. And if you’re going up somebody’s podcast, understand that you’re and you have to be directed to the point. So we created this for our clients and it was a lot of fun.

Our goal today is really to have you do this to your competitors. Now in this example, your, the cat was just kick the dog off of,
you know, it pushes to exactly. Now that account is taken over and no matter how you introduce yourself, we always have to remember that our clients,
your clients, they’re always tuning into radio station, w I, F m. They’re wondering what’s in it for me. So all of our messaging is going to be talking about what’s in it for them and the benefit that you provide for them.
You know, so there I make sure I know who puts their email in pretty cool paper. It all begins With your target audience.
Everything begins and ends there. We call our target audience. We call our area because we’ve got 6 different marketing people would call them avatars. Ah, we call them harriet.
We got 6 different ones. It all. We describe all differently. The demographics, you know, how you would describe them male, female, age range.
They’re all different. So that when we’re putting any marketing tactic together, we have to think, okay, which one of our hair it’s, are we talking to?
And the more that you go through your client base and decide ok, who are my favorites? Which one which do I want more of? Which to I want less of very important distinction there.
Who are the most profitable? Who are the ones I would like to play with the most and, and those can all be different. As we start to separate them out,
it makes it easier for us to create our messages, the psychographics, which we’ll talk about a little bit that’s, that’s what’s going on between the, the 6 inches between their ears.
What’s going on? What would pain point are you able to take away for them? And that’s rather important. And all of it is how you package your,
your uniqueness. Imagine that these 4 women all want to buy a car from you thought, well, if you’re a current source, you’re probably not looking for the same kind of car.
They’re probably not looking for the same benefits and features of that car show. Good car sales person is going to message each of them differently in order to attract them to their dealership.
The same thing is true for you. It’s quite possible that these for women could all benefit from your product or service, but you will need to message each of them differently in order to attract them to you.
Now in, in this case, oh, those are there. They’ve all been claims or god, daughter, And that’s a little bit of theory,
but here’s how that theory works in real, in the real world. Because it’s, it’s wonderful to have marketing theory and all that. But how do you put it into play?
If you’ve ever been to panda express, look at the back of your seat and they, they’re giving you an ethical bribe. If you would like a free entre item your next time here,
go to our website and answer some questions. And they’re going to ask you, how was the food and how is the service and that they’re gonna ask you about a dozen different questions.
And then they get to this slide, this was the last one. And they started capturing all the demographic information because they want to know who’s who relates to their restaurant,
who’s responding to her advertising and his, their advertising work. And over time, when they gather enough of this information, they ever really clear picture of what their messaging should be in order to get more people into the restaurant.
Now, the thought of giving something away for as a way of gathering information is not new. And if you think about this, that free entre item,
they’re gathering a whole lot of information for probably less than a dollar. You know, the hard cost of the food, their rent is built in, their employee costs are built in.
So all they’re doing is giving you or I one more entre exact what they’re, what they’re gaining. Your team is that you’re going to come back. So really the,
the profit from that 2nd item. If you want to get deep into the economics of, there’s the cost for the, an entre items really close to 0 for them.
So the question that we go through with our clients is, what’s the, what’s the ethical bribe? What is the free report that you can give to your prospects that it’s going to make them want to connect with you more?
Well, if you’d like a demographic chart, we have one. If you want to start to split it out, send us an email that the information is in your eye at the top of the screen.
So I’d like your info, your demographic chart will send you ours, and you can start to plot out and look at a whole bunch of different demographics for that you might want to look at.
Now we have a couple of our different periods. Only have 2 different demographic items that matches them up. And we have a couple of more that how 6 or 7.
So in other words, for example, one of them her job is that she’s the right hand person of the man that owns the company and, and it always worked that way.
ages 45 to 60 college educated, self designates as christian, except one was jewish. average 2 and a half kids and their vacations are above the grand kids.
This is the picture, and every one of them i’ve met this person 8 times in my career. Every time, all of those demographics had to be in place.
Now if it’s a, it’s a really profitable carrier for us, but I’ve only met her 8 times and you know, over 3 decades. So, but it’s a really cool one.
So let’s get to some generic marketing here for a 2nd. I want to give you a couple of terms. You’ll hear marketing people talk about your sales funnel,
which is the this century’s version of what’s your sales process. How does it all work? And if you picture a martini glass or an actual funnel, a lot of your,
your new people, your prospects and people you meet going at the top. And there’s the process of getting to you to know them and them to know you.
And at some point, they either make a decision to buy or not, which is fine. Yes and no or are both perfectly good answers. You can probably think about if somebody gives you a 100 now or on back to that,
that’s just the worse. So we want to do a trade of it. I had always wanted it to be based on lucy from peanuts you know, her psychiatric help,
5 cents, and finally weren’t. And we’re going to build it. So we sent the markup to our entire spectrum of clients. And interestingly enough, all of them said,
yeah, that’s cool or various versions of that. So we didn’t know if we just had ok, so it’s a, it’s a cool idea or is it really going to help us in our funnel separate?
Yes. This from the notes. But here’s what we found out when someone saw our trade show, if they got it, if they started getting emotional,
oh, I remember lucy and they’re probably one of our harriet’s either either as a client or is a really amazing She referral partner where we’re going to be able for business,
back and forth. And that’s the top of the funnel is they can, is, is this captures their attention and they ask us what we do. So at the top of the funnel thing where they’re getting,
you know, we give them all sorts of information, a couple of albums, and then continue the conversation after that. Now when they get back to their office,
when they go through all the stuff they got at the trade show, you know there’s, there’s the 3 piles. There’s usually 2, but we’ve made it 3.
There is a promotional products, yay! gave us a really nice living for a very long time. So yeah, there’s all the 8 and a half by 11 sheets of paper that people give out that are all about them.
And usually an awful lot about how we’re going to help you lesson there. And then there are books, your books well into that weird category of They’re not really something I want to throw out because we’ve been taught not to throw out books.
And there’s some really good information on. In fact, one of the 20 things you’re going to learn later, we’re going to talk about writing your book.
So, the worst thing that can happen a book is it ends up on their shelf with our names staring at them forever. The best thing and they read it.
So that’s how we, we use that the psychographic part. Now what if somebody looked at our treasure before they don’t get it or you want, you want me to give you a nickel?
answer my question. We know they don’t get it. OK, so we get a couple of our promotional products and get their information, answer whatever question they have,
and less time invested on, on their part in ours. So you want to make your messages. Let your prospect your harriet’s know what you do and if you,
they don’t need you. That’s great. You have 99.99 something percent of the people who don’t meet us. And that’s ok because you can make a really good living from that point 001 percent of the world population.
So don’t worry about, you know, getting nose and guesses and let them sort themselves out. It’s really quite all right, So all of our messages and every one of the tactics we’re going to talk about today.
We want you to start thinking in terms of sidewalk signs. This is the actual sidewalk time sort of thing in the wild. We were lucky enough to be able to be in London 2 summers ago.
My sister’s family is there. We are walking from our air b A, B to my sister’s home. We saw the sidewalks on. It totally caught our attention because we are big bang theory.
fans are great. We’re going to have a lot of fun. We’re going to win some pounds. Oh dress. We’re not going to be here on those day to american.
A big bang theory. contrast with a bunch. Yeah, we’re gonna, we’re gonna continue and that’s ok. You know, we’re not gonna be here.
We got continued on a walk, we weren’t late and we didn’t take up the time for the upkeep. So it, it gave us just enough information to want to make us raise our hand,
right. Not the whole menu. What caught house right now for information. Unfortunately, we’re not the right ones and we kept walking. Yeah. So your side marketing is the,
are the art of getting your prospects to raise their hand and say, i’d like to have a better conversation. We don’t go into the sales process right away.
What we want to do is get some rough information that they want to say, okay, that’s cool. I want to get more info. Let’s talk your sidewalks.
My messages are giving just enough information for them to want to reach out to you. So start thinking in terms of gravity, in, in all of your signs,
because, you know, good marketing is going to make the company look smart. But great. marketing makes your customer feel smart based. They’re getting the information they need to make a decision.
You, you spent some time this morning. We had a issue at our house where her water softener, oh my goodness has decided people. It’s Sharon was sharon called one summer.
I’m listening for my have the have the office and one plumbing company wouldn’t even give her a price range without sending somebody out. It’s like what? I can do the research online,
you know, if I wanted to, but it was. So they didn’t, they weren’t willing to give sharon, just enough information, they can share and want to continue the conversation with them share moved on to the person.
So there is a difference between good marketing and bad. Look, I totally get it if you don’t want to give exact pricing without someone coming, i totally get that.
But give a range, right? Let your prospect know that they are, they’re investment is about this. Even when I said to them, you know,
is it, am I budgeting a $1000.00 or $10000.00? She wouldn’t even give me the rain. It was astonishing. So please don’t do that if you want That just mister sharon said I could do my own research.
Ok miss number one, it’s impossible to get in the press unless you are famous. Know, write this down. Help a reporter out. Dot com.
Help a reporter out dot com. When you go to that website and sign up 3 times a day, you’re going to get an email. And in that email are going to be a list of questions that different reporters are looking for experts to answer.
You know, I think eric cindy is on his call. She’s one of the most amazing financial players in the world. She’s been published in a bunch because she’s answered questions when it’s,
we need to speak to a financial planner about how thirty’s and 40 some things get ready for retirement. Now, I see that question. I’m not qualified to answer that question,
but cindy is, you know, be questions about, how do you prepare for traits? Well, heck, i can answer that one all the time.

It says how to get faster. Well, because when we talk to people they, they tend to ask us to question, what do I do next?
And how do I get there faster? So I get there faster, i’ll come on, takes people dirt, our calendar Generally, how had this really long network marketing u R L and what she was really doing is teaching them how to travel better.
She also owns h O W E to travel that are because her last name is hau h A V. So you want to find u R l’s that are going to match what you do until your story.
Most people say they get most of their business or more of mouth. That’s awesome. word of mouth is really just word of marketing. So we were marketing.
So this is, this is kind of a secret power of ours. If you’re looking for the really right, an awesome u R l’s been connected us into secret superpower.
Oh, it’s kinda fun. Okay, what’s the next? Oh my gosh. It’s impossible for you to easily get messages to your audience. You, if you just pick up the phone?
Well, that’s not what this one of the easiest and, and it’s free from a cost point of view. It’s not free from point. Time point of view is to add information on your website by blogging.
And we’re not looking for. We’re in peace, we’re looking for 400 to 600 words or so where you demonstrate your brilliance. Because if I say, let’s say,
let’s take a look down the list. You know, I can, looks like james is a lawyer because it’s broken law. So if I said sharon,
you want to call james for that lawyer, lawyer challenge. Now gone are the days we’re sharing, just going to call right and deal with them up.
Let’s look place what’s happening as website. What’s happening on social media. Why james? Why not jane next door? The claims to also get a lawyers changes,
but I wouldn’t know that without checking them out. So. Oh ok. Now I get why hang side to call james, you know, and one of the,
one of the easiest ways to demonstrate your brilliance is to be blogging. We actually ended up on the huffington post and we’ve been in all sorts of things because people checked out our blog and that was it.
We have found that it’s really one of the best ways to, to gather new clients is to be adding to your website all the time. Because well,
I don’t know that we’re talking about search engine optimization much in this in this webinar. But if your website is changing all the time, if it’s being updated,
then you have a much better chance of being found by the search engines because they’re looking for websites that are being constantly updated and adding new information. So blogging makes that very simple.
Just going to go past this one, going to quickly, one of our favorite uses for promotional products is you turn them into coupons. These are, these are,
it’s the only advertising people don’t mind getting. We’ve had a lot of companies that will take a pen and put a logo on that. If you want to talk about any pro products,
tell you what you just got to you get a verbal coupon from us. If we talk about pillows and you order, you’ll get a 25 percent discount,
so they’re at just per you. There’s this Miss in sales that you should always be closing. I prefer to use the term always be connecting We when we meet somebody,
we’re one of those people. We are consist ips, we’re consistent card centers. We now we use a system. It is real simple and there’s a website on there.
If you want to check it out, but you could also go to any, any number of your card shops and have card you could go to a printer having,
you know, thank you cards and also in pretty direct mail. Putting an actual stamp on an envelope is not as inexpensive as an e mail, but it’s more effective and that you’re putting something physical.
You’re putting your message is actually into your prospects. And if they’re getting a random email from you, you may or may not even get past their spam folder.
But with a green card or some other other way of connecting with the automatically you have a much better chance of doing invoices do nothing to promote your business.
Well, sure. They do Invoice. The concept of invoice is if a negative thing in most cases. However, if you’re one of those that send that invoices,
send an article that goes on, print out your blog and send it out as a, as some in free information for them. Send a coupon. You could,
if you, if you look at your hair, yes. Let’s say that your plan or your plumber in fact, you know, I’m going to use,
i’m going to use an example here. Let’s, let’s use. Yeah. Ah, I kept what some of the markers they’re using yahoo interested or something.
Okay, hope see your realtor, maria’s all right. Cool air filter and your connecting with a different, you know, with, with Yeah, doesn’t work because they don’t say nothing was that didn’t work.
Okay. I’ll just go back to plumbing one or plumber. You connect with a friend, that’s an electrician. And you have the electrician, your coupons and the electrician,
him you there, q pumps. This is a wonderful way of putting your information into someone else’s hands without giving up your entire email. Here without giving up your mailing was Just making these strategic decisions.
They’re selling to this, they’re selling a different product to the same audience. For example, homeowners, you could have a handyman or an electrician. Oh,
you know, 4 or 5 of you. And you create a coupon sheet that goes into all of your invoices. So this is something where it’s really inexpensive.
It’s a couple of pennies to print a sheet. You’re already investing in the stamp in the envelope and the time to put it together. So you can do this really affordably.
We have clients that have put a stick of big, big red gum into their invoices because it makes their invoices, smell like sentiment. And then if the invoice doesn’t get paid,
they always call and say, did you get my voice? I’m not sure it was the one with the gum in it. Oh yes. That that tends to trigger.
cinnamon tends to trigger the memory that they got it. So there are lots of ways that you can make your invoices go from a negative into a positive one.
Of our clients puts in to dollar baskin robbins coupons. I would pick it up and quickly just to get to the best girl. But Here’s the $2.00 bill on us.
There isn’t really a place for this one, so I just kind of put it in here. There is a banker in our areas makes his name’s mark tufty.
And we were at a an event mixer. This is like 3 years ago. And somebody comes up to him, they read their name badge and, and they had that tone of voice.
You know, that kind of, oh, your banker got any free samples like they’re like you’ve never heard got it. Yeah. kennedy resembles. He goes,
he opened his jacket. Sure. pulled out an envelope and I saw I could see is that he have a 5 and looks and Sure here you go.
And on that it is reasonable. And in there there’s a $2.00 bill as well. And his business card, which is a pretty damn brilliant does. Yeah,
it works really wonderfully well. I get a lot of calls from people that had the $2.00 bill. And we talked about that for a while. It’s interesting,
people tend to not quite spend the 2 dollar bills as quickly that you can’t right over to our bill that’s. That’s a crime or any bill to have your to add your name and phone number on that would be wrong.
And it’s a crime to deface the bill, so I’m not telling you to do that. However, I thought it was a really cool idea. So you see the,
the post the, I put on social media, i tagged it just with the company, just to make sure his boss saw that I thought mark was doing something pretty brilliant.
And jason does the same sort of thing. He’s a financial planner when he goes to an event where he gets to put something into the the grab bag.
He’s stable that you are bill to his wire. So it gets, remember, well, that would cost me $2.00 per everyone. Yes, it was The name of the right of this one’s inexpensive ways.
So you know, to dollars is not on is a rather affordable way to, to make an impression. You could never get on radio shows why bother?
Big man, as nationally. Now if you hear the amount of podcasts that are going out, it has blown up Let’s start with that will put this in the 3 different categories.
There is terrestrial radio, those radio stations you can get in the car. Every one of those station or radio shows they need gas, it’s almost every day.
And that keeps their producer rather busy finding guests. There are podcasts. So let us say that your po will go to your token. This one, your target audience are parents who want,
who want to give their kids an extra boost. Well, you’re going to look for podcast. The talk to parents about education, you’re gonna want to get unfair podcast or podcast is real simple,
the biggest in cost you anything that one’s going to be cast dot com. The information is there. So you’re looking for podcasts that talk to your audience.
We were interviewed last year on a podcast that is designed for sub contractors in the, in the construction industry. Yes, I own one tool. It’s a,
it’s a MasterCard, it fixes everything. So we weren’t talking about construction. We were talking about How to market your subcontractor business. That’s what I had us on there.
So finding a lot of these podcast is not difficult there. Are, you know that this is a Google search away. In fact, don’t you have a list of a bunch?
I do given how many are sprouting up? It might be a little outdated, but there are 600 over 600 in that list. So yes, if you want that list of email and say you want the,
the pdf of podcast kind of simple. Now, getting interviewed let’s, let’s talk about public speaking and in a different way of looking at Best of the service companies or service organizations are starting to meet in person again.
And it’s the rotary, although the Animal ones you know them ions and only they need speakers every week. And the person that gets stuck with the job of getting a speaker that’s they’re the person that missed a meeting.

That made this even more affordable. So getting yourself interviewed, being able to, to talk about what you do is an, an absolutely inexpensive and wonderful way.
Now we, in the last week it’s, it’s been weird for us last week or 2. And we’ve been interviewed like 5 different podcasts. 2 of them in england,
one of them in Australia, just bizarre. And as they publish those, for example, ours, we run at about a $2.00 to $3.00 week backlog.
I’ve got enough shows that you were out a couple of weeks. But as they get published, what we will do is take the link to those and we’ll put them all of our social media.
And we’ll share those on our, on our website there, it’s good going to be a new page on our website, toxic, where we’re going to take all of the interviews that we’ve been review.
We’re going to list those out there. It’s just, yeah, I figure because here’s why this is, excuse us. Because we’re taking his lane. Yes,
I have a different when, when we stopped or podcast for a while we we, it’s, it was, it was not last over never before. We had gone 243 weeks in a row,
doing a podcast. And we thought, you know, we’ll just take a little bit of a break and then cobra hit. So we took a bit more of a break.
So we’ve got all of those episodes that they did. We weren’t on a radio station that paid all of the fees, so that that amused. Yeah.
So we had van halen is our opening music and, and we use, bye, call me maybe coming back for break and say call us what? 800 we give the number.
So we had to strip out music. Now actually sharon’s brother who’s an emmy award winning the 2nd. Yeah. Yeah. So now we have to publish those again.
And those are getting, they’re getting published on anchor and they’re going to spotify all the others. But we’re going to put the player on our website. OK,

It’s like a treasure around. So social media is the sort of silver bullet for all your marketing challenges. One would think It’s really not it. If he went back 101520 years.
If you were in a service business, you had to be in the yellow pages or those delegated Social media is one of those places where you kind of have to do it.
But understand that it’s not the silver bullet that solves all of your issues. There really is no one marketing challenge that what marketing tactic that will solve your challenges.
It’s a, it’s a combination. Yeah. You know, here’s, here’s one of the reasons why all of our social media pages. They’re, they’re free,
right? You can go sign up our linkedin, it’s free facebook for a twitter free pinterest for all of them are free. Well, there’s gotta be a cost there somewhere.
You know, if, if it’s free to us we, you and I, we’re what they’re selling. They’re selling our eyeballs cuz they also laps. So the,
the comes with that your doing this for free. Don’t let that for you. And there’s going to be a time investment in posting the social media. I also understand see the big x on top of Google plus.
These platforms could disappear. Never my space still exists, but really only, you know, musician. Yeah, hang out there so they can come, they can go and your profile could have a glitch and disappear.
We’d had clients have their youtube channels disappear. We’ve had clients have all sorts of profiles disappear. I posted some weird stuff and I’ve been in the facebook jail.
So any number of different things can happen, your social media, but still kind of got to do it because they are gonna check that the trick is choosing the right platform.
And I’ll say plural. Where your harriet’s are showing up, give you couple of examples, snapshot and tick tock are wonderful, but our audience doesn’t hang out there.
We have an account. But it’s just really to secure the you last creative name on there were on most of the platforms, but we only really use a few so get to know where you are,
where your audience is hanging. Now, the information on the slide is, is up to the date as of January. There’s a company that does a state of the Internet report every year.
This year it was $299.00 pages. I read it so you don’t have to add it and it was really interesting to see how some of the numbers changed.
You’ll see this. instagram is almost split 5050 in gender, go back to years. And it wasn’t, it was, it was mostly women. pinterest is still heavily female compared to mail.
If you are going to pick one or 2, we always recommend facebook. And if you’re in the B to be world, we always recommend linkedin. youtube is on here is a social media platform for 2 reasons.
One, it’s owned by Google, which is the number one search engine, and youtube is the number to search engine. So having a youtube channel, which is free again,
of inexpensive marketing tactics. It’s free, but you also have that have it there. Because there, if you Allow for the chat function to happen under your videos,
those comments. Yeah. You get to have a conversation with the target audience they’ve, they’ve watched your videos, which meant they typed in something that has to do with you.
And they found you and they watched it, and they out of the comments. A little side note, we do a webinar. We do 2 different webinars.
I’m talking exclusively about video. We’ll do them again in June. One of those. How do you use youtube? video on YouTube as others is social media video grab does,
because if you’re not doing video to promote your business, you’re missing something incredibly important. It is, it’s crucial to start using the video for your business.
So all of these platform social media, a lot of fun. The real entrepreneur. I can do it all myself and Miles. And before I beg sharon,

before I started the company 25 years ago and and sharon jumped on board about 11 years ago now business got easier. But the 1st several years I was doing it all for promotional products to the research,

you’re going to pay your company, or I said, you’re going to pay a lawyer, james, just Kind of Find those people that you have relationships with him.
Start creating your advisory of him. Our business evolved to where it was from a conversation I had with a competitor and we realized that even though our offices were a mile apart,
we never saw each other in the world. Our audiences were completely different. So every couple of months we would sit down and we would just lay out our business.
Here’s what I’m doing, here’s what I want to you. And he gave some really solid advice that changed the direction my business. So your advisory panel is really important.
My business started because because my mom, you know, long story short over thanksgiving she said to start your business. And I said after my fax machine,
she looked at my dads and rhetoric chuck. So you know, your advisor panel is really important. Your 1st and only investor. I know my parents were the 1st investor,
the $500.00 check that to get a really good laser type.
So you don’t need business cards anymore. This the side I dropped the slide back to and I had taken this slide out and put it back. It was as we come out of code that we kind of need these again,
got a new delivery. No kidding. If you are gen x or if you are a baby boomer or you want to do business with a jack survey either and you are of a different generation.
You need a business card because we kind of expected we want all of your information there and that little 3 and a half by 2 inch piece of paper so that we know you’re really exist with a company.
I know, czar. But I could just do this, electronic one by phone. Yeah, you can You can have different business cards for different audiences,
right. And it’s interesting here. So I’m going to take out the word forest and going to put in the word event planner and event planner. peggy,
you get a different one for brides or restaurants or all the different people you have to make it all have slightly different messages, but all of the same contact info i’ve tried to do that.
I’ve turned in you can do a lot of cool things, add your q r codes to it. And if you’re out of cards and need some new ones,

that’s a search engine who got their own search engine. Doesn’t cost anything. Why not jump on it? huge mess.
You got to spend big money the oh good I did drugs got to spend big money with people that on search engine optimization to bring you more business. This is,
it’s always is a fun one for me. year before last we did a presentation for a company in Los Angeles that its location hold events. And they were spending $3000.00 a month with somebody who was doing search engine optimization point.
And we did an audit of their website and we found that way over 2 thirds of the people that were hitting on their website were in 2 countries that were overseas.
Google, if your website is doing really well. Google has the, the ability to look at where the traffic is coming to your website. And when,
if they had been a and an audit for this location for this company. What it should have been was that 80 or 90 percent of their, of their traffic should have come within 30 miles of the look of the event location.
Because that’s when this the business comes. And there will be, the occasional came from somewhere out of town because somebody was going to be coming into los Angeles to go to an event there.
And they wanted to see what was where there was going to be. You know that the norm, what, what you would expect the truck to beat for a website And what the S C O person was doing was they were charging our customer 3 grand a month and they were taking a $1000.00 of that or so.
And they hired click forms overseas and click pharmacy was exactly what you think of it. It’s a room 100 people in a big room. They’re all in front of a computer.
And they have a list of 10 or 15 websites that they, their entire day is to click from one to the other, to the other, to the other,
and start the process over. So your website has a lot of clicks. Now that the bounce rate, how fast somebody has gone from that website is really fast,
which doesn’t help, but it does raise the number of clicks. And that can trigger a couple of, of google’s 400 algorithms. We don’t recommend it it’s that’s why kind of stuff.
Let’s talk about something that’s free that you can do when you go to website. Have you noticed that when you go to website, you always look at the white bar at the top to make sure that you’ve gone to the right place?
Well, do it look at it. We only think It’s above the picture of our website.
You see where, where there’s, we’re on the creative coaches page. And above that there’s a town. Most web designers, imap tab, will make the tab,
the name of your company and the name of the page. For example, this. Most web designers would call this you off creative dash creative coaches because it was a creative coach speech.
It’s not just logic where it would be you are creative dash about Yeah, or contact. But no one is ever going to try and find a lawyer or anyone else by typing the word contact or about us,
they’re going to check in the words that tie into you. So up in those tabs, you can change those to a full sentence that talks about what you do.
I am known as the best event planner and all of southern California. So if somebody touch investigate planner, southern California, you have a shot at using s E O terms on your tabs.
This is one of my favorite number number 12 here. This is one of my favorites for the entire day. Because virtual he know, web developers that we know well well very few of them ever i’ve been taught this or do this.
You can use it for the graphic designator is what areas you were in. So this again, this is free. And if you can’t figure out how to use the battery or of your WordPress site,
your developer can do it. And if they’re really nice people, they’re not going to charge you for the even show you how, where on your website to,
to find them. This is a simple, simple fix, and from a time point of view, it’s not on. The hardest part of this is the to figure out what keywords you want there.
So You don’t look at a video.
Well yeah, you know, I understand that you like me, can look like george clooney, i get it. But video is, is one of the coolest ways to market your business.
2 thirds of people like to get their information by video. They’re half of all per large purchases. Somebody is watching videos, testimonial videos, ostrich other cool stuff.

Upper left hand picture is a video i never got and I really wish I had that’s where those pictures they are. I was speaking to a group by a 10 minutes to talk about us.
And I told sharon, you know, grab a couple of pictures, but what I had done, see the guy behind me. He also was going to be speaking for 10 minutes either guitar player.
I said, do this. I’m going to walk around the room talking about working. Why don’t you ris on the guitar and we’ll just have fun and we’ll promote you more.
So he was following your other room playing the guitar while I’m talking marketing. And I didn’t get a video and it was probably the best 10 minutes. I wish I had had it so that falls into that category.
Better to not get it, then I need it. Not have it. My favorite model. Yeah. So we do a lot of webinars on video,
come back, you know, they’re all free. We talk about this a lot. video is something that’s going to allow you to tell your story in a very complete way and somebody is going to get to know who you are really easily.
So don’t get on that. Your youtube channel is free gmail address. Now, I see a few of you are using g mail addresses. We would suggest you set up a separate g mail address,
let’s say, based on your company name. So, for example, sample good, wholesome law marketing at g mail. So it’s, you know, based on the law firm,
but it’s the marketing piece, so that all of the notifications from youtube and perhaps your, their social media channels as well. If you look it up that way,
you all go to that one box mail, claudia, regular email address. Yes, you can send emails and your regular reminders. See why we just save them time in the regular?
Yeah, so this is all free. And now when you set up your channel, make sure it looks a lot like your website. So that from,
from a brand point of view, it’s consistent all of your social media pages, your youtube channel, and your website. They should all have the same look.
For example, we use the same profile pictures everywhere. I need to tell him to look at. It doesn’t mean that this was this. You how you’re going to play one video.

And this is why you want to get as many testimonial videos from your clients as possible. It’ll, they will slow your website just to tad ours, ours loads at about 6 seconds.
But we’ve got way over a 100 testimonial videos that are scattered throughout our website. The. Is it worth it compared to it? Not with it always ends toward the it’s worth it.
So once you play this one video, it’s about a minute. Where a mother, daughter, elemental, can bella organic or a 100 percent organic foot candle.
Mine. And we have just attended the marketing boot camp and it was amazing, wasn’t, hasn’t really emotional idea, really great. motional i, I love those.
That’s my struggle with. It was really great to be able to come here. So many different ideas, tactics i’ve, my mind is like spinning and just blown out on fire.

Here hilton is using their twitter feed. In fact, this is the city. There isn’t even their main twitter feed. This is our secondary what they have their social media people going through twitter looking for people who are saying,
hey, I’m in New Orleans for the night. Who can tell me a good restaurant now, or austin or los Angeles, wherever. And they’re not saying he comes in hilton,
they’re giving other examples. This falls into the category of this is nowhere near the fastest, apt cash They are hoping that there are a twitter feed is hopeful enough that when somebody needs to make a hotel reservation the next time they remember that it was alter,
say, this is not the fastest, now to cache. It’s free. It’s time consuming. But it’s, you know, so, but it can work your v A could do this way.

Which led to the comment. Yes. And ginger rogers did everything that fred astaire did, but backwards and heels heard that extra. So at the end of the event i found the picture of ginger and fred put it on a card.
And I sent it to lisa’s office with a box of brownies from the service that we use. few days later. Oh my gosh. Lisa gibbons tweeted me.
Who so for the, for the some brownies, i now have a story and leaves it given says I am so thoughtful. So I am officially thoughtful because liza said she,
by the way, one of the coolest human beings, if you get a chance to attend some events that she puts on well worth it, she is spec tackler talked about that.
We alluded to this one before. It’s booked I was told by coach gatorade about kind of the kind of work and he said,
no, I don’t want to write a book. It’s time. I don’t want to write a book, but approach you people. When I interview the person that wrote the book on the subject,
fine sat down. I was the typical person. You saw the movies that they’re going to write and they should have the blinking cursor. And you know,
plain white screen. Yeah, that was me to my desk and I’ve been doing some rubber band marking. You’ve all done rubber band marketing. If you’ve been out in the world,
you go to an event and you get like a stack of business cards of the people you’re supposed follow up with them. You put a rubber band around them,
so they don’t ballpark. You put that on your desk because you’re going to be around to call him rubber band marketing. And I’ve been doing a bit of that,
and I’m looking at, at my desk and I saw a few stacks of rubber band marketing. And I remember thinking, you know, there were a lot of business cards that,
that didn’t live up to, you know, that were up to snuff, they weren’t poor business car. I wonder if there are some categories. turns out there are 49 of things that you know stupid things that people do.
This is Carson. So that’s where that 1st book came from. finished the book, it hipaa. So or amazon walked up to my coach and said,
here, you know that, that, that sark here, looked at it, went through it. Let’s go with the workbook. What worked? Well,
you just took 120 pages and some people, their business cards to get to help do it. You know, the right way. Fine. Again, blank screen blinking cursor.
They’re going to need to know about logos and also the other stuff. And 160 pages later, it is some marketing checklist, a the simple ways to master your marketing.
This, this, this pattern has gone with that same coach and, and I still haven’t written the business card, you know, work on how to do your business cards,
but we’ve got 6 or 7 books coming out. Now, here’s how we use our books. You’re not going to get rich probably not likely, not likely.
We have given away way more than the result. However, our books have gotten us on to dozens of blood gas and because of our books, we’ve leveraged them into a lot of different speaking events and they have gotten our clients and,
and as a business tool, there aren’t any better. It’s good. And one of the reasons is your competitors won’t do it. The concept of writing for most people is just so foreign.
So the old saying is, you do the things that your competitors will do. So you can have the money that they want. And writing a book is one of the best.
Now on our blog and our website, there is a blog, 18 steps to, you know, easy the writer, but feel free to go grab that.
It will help you out. And here’s one of the other things that we do. We have we have the picture on the left side of your screen that happen to be on a cruise ship.
We bring extra books. Now understand that most people are going cruise ships. They have some extra income because they’re going to cruise ship. There’s a certain level of income you generally have to go on a week long groups.
So we will bring 2 or 3 books. And on the inside we will write high their business owners because the only people that pull our books off shells are business owners.
Feel free to steal this book. We happen to just leave it here in the hope that have an entrepreneur would find it. Best of luck, and during the course of the week,
we keep track of where they are. And by the end of the week, they’re always gone. We call that shoplifting and reverse. We will also do shop like getting in reverse.

i was opening, we were both in line and she took me through the process of oh, you have a new book coming out in the we calendar everything and I had to have it done the next week when we are blogging.
Remember, earlier in the session, we were talking about blogging. Most of the chapters in our books are probably appear to one of our blogs. I will extend them and edit them before I put them in a book because our,
our blog is a little less formal writing and our books are a little more formal writing. You don’t have to, you don’t, I just do because I know our editor is going to is going to look at it.
And I want to impress our editor who I really, I have been lucky. We have had the same editor for all 6 books, and now 7th,
she’s trying to retire. We are the last authors she’s playing with. So it won’t take that long and in judy honestly if you, if you have a thought about it,
that website at the bottom, how to get there faster, go grab a half hour this week and talk about it. And you’ve probably created content already.
And remember, we’re not looking for one piece, you only read 96 pages for this. I know you said pages of content. No, there’s your table of contents and your copyright page and your,
you know about the author page, there’s a lot of pages in there. So it’s not as difficult as one would think. The slowest way to do it is to blog once a week for a year and the end of the year you’ll have,
yeah, you’ll have a book that’s the slowest way to do it. But if you want to go faster than there are ways to do it again on how to get there faster,
dot com. And honestly, we’ve got some feller in there in the market checklist to one of the chapters. Are it since it’s 49 more ways to master marketing?

Really just in the examples and stories it has to do with success mindset mindset for success. And it, for example, it’s, it’s the professionals mindset for success.
It’s the dog rumors mindset for the lawyers. And he just changes if you know a few slides, but it’s the same presentation every single time. You could do that,
you do that, do I just you like doing various one paper click advertising. notice that it says pay per yeah. It’s not paper. Right. It’s only she.
Yeah, this would be affordable. Things we’re talking about. This is one of the more expensive things it can be if you’re not mindful of your budget.
Yeah. Set a budget in is an example. We have a budget right now that’s $2.00 a day. We are testing out a few different search terms.
One of them is our name. We are fortunate enough that we have a name that very few people have in this, in the entire globe. And we have found over the course of time,
people tend to know if they’re searching for us. They’ve probably heard us or somewhere and they’ve got the name, but also the search terms. We have the misspellings of earning we have spent 20 or $30.00 a day to,
to, to test out different things. All of the platforms and this goes back to the very beginning when we were talking about your audience, knowing your audience so that you can narrow down who sees your ad is vital.
B, only people who tend to see our ads are business owners. And we, we block it in certain areas and that saves a lot of money so that you can very definitely limit your budget.
Now, all of the platforms are very helpful getting your ads together. Because if your ad just successful, you will do more. They have a vested interest in you succeeding.
It’s worth having a conversation with them. If you’re going to do them, and we know some other people do that, do paper, click add. If you want somebody that isn’t beholden to Google,
let us know we’ve got 2 or 3 people we can recommend you chat with one of them. She’s, she’s over in england, lovely lady. So if you want to,
if you want to chat with somebody’s got this amazing british accent as a vendor or collector. It’s sylvia. She didn’t quite yes. I think she’s almost ready because she had some oral surgery and she has,
she’s been on the bench for the last 2 weeks. Yeah. The, the nice thing about the platforms is that they are very helpful. That the one reason that you might want to use another professional is they are the part that they’re not so out.
The way is to make sure that you are doing the most affordable way. They can make you successful in that you’re going to reach your target audience and you’re going to stay within your budget.

I say you have a down the hall and the advertising department. It’s our so you can write your surveys to gather whatever kind of information you want. You can also write your surveys toward making them think they had a much better experience really may have had and,
and offering you referrals. So we give you that is just going to leave. That was there for you. Last, we talked about video, but in this last number 20,
we want to talk about gallery testimonial your script. I’m going to go past this one just because your script is something like this. When somebody says, thank you.
You did a great job. You say thank you. I so appreciate you saying that, hey, could I ask a small favor? Could I get you to send that say the under my phone so I can help other people just like you does last 3 are probably the most important just like you if you,
if you didn’t write the whole thing down, just make sure you write down just like you are because people want to help people just like them really can simple.
You cannot have enough of these. They are free. I think in a little free marketing. You build your word of mouth advertising. You build your word of mouth marketing by letting other people tell your story.
Now, let’s say sharon, i want you to call cindy cassette for your financial planning. Do you cindy as like the most amazing financial plan or you’re ever going to be?
I’m sure. Now I told sharon what to do, but sharon’s going to go checkouts and these website f C f S A Z dot com friedman. christ financial Services,

Now we know this works and here’s how it works. Most of the time when somebody calls us and say, we want to talk to you about coaching,
we’re always going to save you going through our website. And you know, we really should go through our website regional or bogs. You get an idea of how we teach and how we work with clients.
And most of the time, a grievance or outside. I watch the testimonials. I read your half was there. They are go into your website. They are looking you up.
They are checking you out. And then by the way, some, sometimes you’re wondering, well what am I going to post on social media? These testimonial videos are awesome to share on social media and not just the one time they did it.
Yeah, that’s great. You got a new one, you share that one, but then you can share them repeatedly. So one last video of this one,
this is from james. So again, for us, we’re lucky abc c for millionaire. Things were bit worried about hey, what’s up everybody, james balance act teacher on a,
B, C T. V. Show secret millionaire. And look, I have done 3000 teachers. I’ve done a 1000 consultations. I’ve been around, i’ve seen a lot,
and I’m very big into marketing and branding and, and I got to tell you if you want to people who truly care about your best interests and who will get the essence of what you’re trying to do out.
But most importantly, attract and abundance of new and repeat customers and clients, or patients. If you’re a physician back to you and you’ve got to work with my friends,
hey, can share, you know, think I like about them more than anything else. Sure. They’re smart. Sure. They, they, they know what they’re doing,
all aspects of business, what is H R, or whether it’s marketing or prosperity, but they come from the heart, they want to make a difference and they truly,
truly, truly care about their clients become their client. Today you will be so grateful. So your,
your job in the next week is to reach out to a half a dozen of your clients that you know love what you did and ask for video testimonial.
Some will say yes. Mostly. No. That is okay. Oh,
we’re just trying to get as many yes, as we can. This is, this is one of the one of the vital things that you can do.
Again, doesn’t cost you anything. Today’s webinar, mostly inexpensive ways. We’ve given you a ton of 3 ways. Most of these were free the, the cost was in your time if you want to make sure you get those video testimonials,
i would suggest you don’t do it by any, you know, it’s easier to say no to an email that is to you on a phone call, just sharing that with you.

Your next steps are kinda are kind of basic we need you to create your marketing budget. This isn’t just dollars, this is your time. We want you to block out time in your schedule that you are going to dedicate your marketing every week.
And it doesn’t have to be a ton. Well, in our private coaching classes, actually, I think yes, we talked, we talked cindy something.
And when I did the everything we’ve done, czar. That’s cool. So your budget time, and here’s an example. We’re in a networking group that meets wednesday mornings and right now they’re not charging produce.
But we do have to budget our time and our time because there’s 2 of us And when you look at the time versus,
you know, for what you’re doing for some of these, these projects. How much do you have to earn to make it worth it? You’re doing a budgeting it out helps you do that.
You’re going to get really proficient with some basic tools. All of us have one of these. All of them have cameras and all of them. In addition to the white button had the little red button for video,
we’ve got to get really good at it. You can know your sales funnels, your sales processes. How many different ways do you have out there to generate revenue?
Or to as another way of putting it to get people into your funnel to start talking about selling what you do. You probably have more of them, you think Get to know how they all work so that you can work them much better.
And you’re going to be, you’re going to have to be on social media. If it’s a time crunch, the pick the platforms that are gonna work for you and start 22 minutes.
Not a half hour, not an hour, just 22 minutes back. You can get it done in 22 minutes and you should have your list of marketing goals.
You’ll notice that we don’t have a top 10. We’ve got a top 12 that cuz there’s 12 months in a year. Obviously because much more clear. We’ve given you a lot of ways to market your business and if you try and do them all at once,
you’re going to get into a state of overwhelm and we don’t want them over on doing well. Yes, we want you want to state of well we want you to be whelmed.
Not overwhelmed? Of that 12. What are the top 3? Because those been the 1st 3 you’re going to do in the next quarter and then the one.
Okay, what’s the 1st thing you’re going to do the next month? These will rotate the book that we have coming out july 21, sat at number 8 or 9 for 3 years.
And then I was in club house and I was, I was one of the speakers in a room and we were talking about ways to market your business.
I was talking about books and I said, yep, my subconscious took over, my subconscious, took over my mouth and said, yes, that book’s going to come out of to celebrate our 30th winning universe or angel.
I 21. And I looked at the room and I had 3 clients that were in the room, is like, oh, I guess we have to do this.
It went from number 8, number one. And the reason it’s sitting in number one is that let’s say that, that I had a call with a client schedule and they cause I can’t make it today.
Can we, can we book it, you know, book it for next week? Sure. I know have a gap in my calendar. Ok, i look at my marketing list.
What is the best and highest use of my time right now? You know, at the moment number I look at number one, ok, that books coming out.
Is there something I need to do to move that book down, down the path. And that book itself has its own checklist of things. You know,
getting the cover finished pretty much there. I’m waiting for a couple of photos that have to go on it. There’s, you know, all of the content except for one chapter is already gone to the editor.
I know, got on the list. I have to get it ready and amazon, and I see there’s all of these things that I’ve done and they’re getting checked off because every time I’ve got my camera,
look at the checklist, what could I do right now? So having that checklist of, of what you want done, if you’ve ever been to a,
I just rephrased something you’ve probably heard it almost every positive mental attitude. webinar you went to write your goals down. I used to think that was a bunch of hooey until I read think it was for like the 12 time I thought the brightest jewelry shad minutes and actually read them down and I saw them starting to happen.

We have a, we have a checklist. It’s, it’s there where if you’re putting your website together, it will give you kind of a roadmap on how to put your,
you know, how to plan for what you’re going to put on your website. We put that one together because we got really tired of having to fix a lot of websites and web developers that aren’t great.
So that ones there and it’s free just to there’s a big red button, just hit it and bring a pop up. And one of the reasons that we,
the biggest reason that we recommend we’re pricing is that is the most s C O friendly for you. Those other sites for hank was alluding to the fcl was all to get more people to build on their site.
It’s not for you and to grow your business. WordPress, you own your own the theme, and it’s all use the fcl was all about you. So,
great question. Yeah, It is, it is not more comp is more complicated to build, which is why we have developers that build them. But once it’s built,
it’s really easy to maintain an edit. If you suddenly say, oh, you know what, I told the developer to use this wrong word and I really should be this word.
You can, you can fix it yourself. You don’t need to pay them an hourly to fix it. Yeah, totally simple. Yeah,

We don’t talk about how to create because we’re not developers. We, we helped design, right? This is how it should look. And this is how your customer client should flow through the website the,
the kinds of words that you should use. But we don’t go back to the coding if you, if you mean, but by your question that says where to go web creation.
If you’re talking about design, yeah, we talk about that. In fact, if we don’t talk about the right way, will answer your questions. There is,
there are some, some very basics for web design. You want to try to make it so that your prospect doesn’t to get anywhere on your website. They don’t have to click more than twice,
which is really hard. Sometimes you want to make sure that your, that your site is adaptive. responsive, adaptive, meaning whatever device somebody is going to look at your website on that they can,
that it will be, it will flow smoothly. In fact, it use use arson example. If you go to you last creative dot com on your laptop,
and then you look at on your phone, you’ll see the difference. But a couple of things are early is the same. We recommend you make your phone number very visible because a large percentage of people on your website are looking for you’re just looking for your phone number.
So we always make sure that your website is responsive in that if they are looking at your website on the phone, all I do is touch your phone and the dialer pops up.
That means it’s responsive. Not every developer even now makes, makes the website responsive. And it’s one of the most important things in google’s algorithms, is it,
your website must be responsive and adaptive. And we go over that quite a bit and I wanna See you There.
